This Buell closing is making my head hurt. I've worked for a HD and Buell dealership for 8 years now. So far I can't find one "rebate" that is even close to $5,000 discount on prices of the 1125 models or $3,000 on the xb line up. Who came up with this "reabte" and who is it from? If a product is soon to no longer be available, why would you cut the price so much just when demand goes through the roof? If Mr. HD wants to just change the name plate because of brand recognition, then change it. Speculation is all any of us are getting. No proven real facts, except for the closing of Buell, because Mr. HD won't speculate on future products? Several people in the "know" say this is not over, thats a question in itself Will the dealers and public know anything at the Winter dealer meeting in January? Who knows? No, really who knows? Sorry I just needed to rant. Thanks, for listening Micah |

I've heard Buell will be back under the Harley name but I dont see how that is possible since they are letting go of most of Buell's staff. |

An anonymus poster in another section circled and highlighted an article saying that HD would not build Buells with the HD name plate. So no real answers. |

From the horse's mouth:
quote:Are any of the brand’s models going to be available as Harley-Davidson models? Harley-Davidson has no plans to produce Buell motorcycles as Harley-Davidson products.

At this point if H.D.I. told the truth would you believe it? |

The only Buell that I could imagine HD making is the Blast for their beginning rider training. And even then, I bet that it would not be sold in dealerships. Unless HD reverses itself and sells Buell, or sells the Buell intellectual property, you're not going to see a Buell (or anything like one) for a long time. |

Well, technically HD "has no plans" to produce re-branded Buells. IIRC one of our presidents said they had "no plans" to raise taxes 10 or 12 years ago and shortly afterwards raised them anyway. They didn't plan to, they just did it. |

Blasts aren't Buells anymore and they' not HD. They're just Blasts. Rumor has it that they will continue to be built for about five years for the Riders Edge program, or as long as there is a Riders Edge program. Learning to ride on a Honda at the Harley shop seems a bit silly |

Even if they did re-badge the Buells to HD... Ten years from now mine would still say Buell on the side! |

Ha, good point. If HD had "plans", this might not have happened. |

i agree with American. if they did change the badging i would just take the Harley stuff off and rebadge with Buell logos. doesn't it seem suspicious though that HD won't se Buell off? I'm not understanding that one. |
