I guess they should rename this part of the board to the Rainbow Racing Fans Coalition.

Does it really matter if any of the top riders are hetero- or homo- sexual? How about if they're bisexual? I have absolutely no interest in their private lives. What I enjoy is watching them display superhuman abilities in riding a motorcycle on a race track.

I'm a Rossi fan. I've watched him do amazing things over the years. I've also watched Lorenzo and Marquez do some amazing things. Nobody gets to win the championship without being one of the best riders in the world.

I don't care if Valentino, Marc and Jorge play Hide the Weiner with each other or if they have incredibly beautiful women to play the game with. My only interest is to watch them perform other worldly magic on two wheels.

If somebody supports Marquez, I respect his opinion. Even if I don't care for him I have to respect his abilities. It won't stop me from cheering on Rossi, though. He is, in my opinion, one of the greatest racers of all time.

Let's leave the obnoxious slamming for the political threads.

Thank you, Crusty.

I hate the "Summer Break." No MotoGP, no World Superbike, no MotoAmerica. There's the 8 hours of Suzuka coming up, but I don't think that's televised. I did enjoy reading the stories about the two years Rossi and Edwards were teamed up for Honda though. That's where they cemented their friendship.

Interesting analysis of the four "Aliens" in Asphalt and Rubber. Of the four, Dani Pedrosa seems to be the one most "lost."

I actually feel bad for him. He's no longer Honda's "Wonder Boy" and seems to be all but forgotten as the factory fawns all over their new wunderkind. It would've been interesting to see him on a Yamaha alongside Valentino, but I can understand Yamaha not wanting two "Old Guys" on the same team.

Curse the factory for being results-oriented.

Yeah, that makes no sense at all.

Yeah, I've seen that before. I look for posts by Greg White as to the actual start and end times and program my DVR accordingly (without paying attention to what the Guide actually says it is).

In contrast to the days my friend and I heard the Spanish National Anthem three times whenever we went to Indianapolis, it was refreshing to hear both the French and Italian anthems as well this morning. ; )

5th place with a dislocated shoulder is pretty damned good.

Nice to see a Ducati (or two) up on the podium as well.

I disagree. Having broken quite a few ribs and dislocated both shoulders several times, I'll take the rib pain over the shoulder all day and twice on Sunday.

Both situations suck really bad, and had very impressive outcomes indeed. To say one is more than the other is sort of disingenuous.

That's only because you want to boost "your guy" over the winner, that's all. There was another racer a couple of years ago who fractured his shoulder, had it reassembled, and finished in fifth place less than 48 hours later. Now THAT was impressive.

This dislocated shoulder, by comparison, was minor in that it fixed itself on the scooter ride back to the pit the day before.

Doesn't matter though. By his own admission, fifth was the best he could've done yesterday even if he was healthy. Shame Pedrosa did so poorly in qualifying, as he was running a similar pace to the leaders but was too far back for it to matter.

Yeah, yeah, it's all impressive.

A dislocated shoulder "fixing itself" is a laughable statement... spoken like somebody who has never had one.

Boosting "my guy" over the winner...

By this, you mean of course, the championship points leader with the comfortable margin over the historical footnote.

Yeah.

Marquez now has the same number of pole positions as Lorenzo, and yes... even Rossi himself.

No doubt he has talent but he's also wreckless and lucky. One day his luck will run out. Hopefully he'll have enough talent to save his ass from a wheelchair or worse.

Marquez is no more lucky than any other rider. At this stage of his career, to have as many poles as Rossi cannot be attributed to luck. That's just sour grapes.

How about Dani Pedrosa yesterday? From out of nowhere to the WIN! Had to be humiliating for Rossi.

Dani used his light weigh with the soft tire to gain the advantage. It was obvious that Rossi didn't have the grip to challenge.

One for Dani. He earned it.
