Interesting race. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the little rat-weasel get shuffled from third to fifth on the last lap by both his teammate and Nicky Hayden.

Sweet revenge for Nicky!! And it looks like whatever changes they made to the GP10 to suit Nicky's style has made it unridable for Casey Stoner. Weird!

Is the bike unridable, or did he just have a brain fart?

Excellent race by Lorenzo. Rossi will find it very hard this year.

Spies had a terrible weekend. This is his 2nd in a row bad weekend. Is everything OK ?? Will we see another 'WSBK champion that fails in motoGP' story ?? Next race is Muggelo , another track Spies has to learn.

Stoner has made another stupid mistake....again. He is an idiot......He pushed too much, too early and he crashed. He had an almost crash in the morning warm up while he posted the fastest lap. Obviously he was at his limit. He did not crash in Warm Up , but he made sure the crash happened in the race. So he learned nothing about his limits from that incident in Warm up. Is he brain dead??? He had the fastest lap of the race at that stage, but he was over the limit, so he crashed. Will this guy ever going to learn ???? I seriosly doupt it.

I think Stoner's problem is psychological , and in order to fix it he needs a new start next year at Honda. The way Hayden made a new start at Ducati. Stoner's career at Ducati is over.

Hmmm, Spies suddenly looks more fallible doesn't he, and has scored less than Toseland did in his first year on the M1 so far. Maybe James wasn't as bad as they said he was : ) Hopefully Ben will get his head/game together and his ankle will heal before Mugello. Edwards also looked terrible at Le Mans so I don't know what his/Tech 3's particular problem was to make him finish almost last? Especially when you see the other two Yamahas right at the front of the race. I fully expected Colin to get the better of the battle of the rookies that he got involved with towards the end of the race, so was pretty surprised when he finished behind all of them.

Hayden got a good result but still has a way to go before he is truly competitive on the Ducati I think. Pedrosa obviously had major problems by the end of the race which allowed Dovi and Nicky to pass him.

Rossi looked strangely 'out of sorts' on race day and didn't look as if he was trying too hard to stay with Lorenzo, although Lorenzo was in such brilliant form all weekend that I don't think anyone could have lived with him for long during the race anyway, regardless of how hard they rode. Rossi may have got pole position but Lorenzo had by far the best and most consistent of the qualifying runs and could have run low 34's all day.

Stoner has made another stupid mistake....again. He is an idiot......He pushed too much, too early and he crashed. He had an almost crash in the morning warm up while he posted the fastest lap. Obviously he was at his limit.

Stoner actually stated afterwards that he was nowhere near the limit at the point where he crashed. He said that when the bike was on the limit it wasn't a problem, but at anything less than that the biek gave problems that they had tried all weekend to solve. He looked pretty crestfallen and more than a little frustrated when interveiwed and I suspect he will be moving from Ducati next year for sure.

Altogether a pretty boring GP in my book and I'mm looking forward to a better race in Mugello.

Moto2 on the other hand was just brilliant again! That has to be the best race series I have seen for years! 41 riders, lots of incidents and great racing : )

: ) very good : )

It would have been even more surprising to predict that Simoncelli, Melandri, De Puniet, Barbera, Aoyama and Kallio would be ahead of both of them!

Stoner can say whatever he wants . The fact is that he is lazy for some reason , he doesn't do many runs during FP , and actually he hasn't raced that much this season , has he ??

How can he understand the problem ,, when he spends most of his time in the garage , either being lazy or after having crashed ??? He is a big talent , but there is something missing.

Maybe he should try employing a real manager , instead of his daddy.

I am big Stoner fan , since in his 1st year (2006) and his 2nd year (2007) he showed amazing speed and managed to go fast on a bike that noone else could ride. Now , we have not see him do any racing. Jerez was a joke for Stoner , and then he had 2 crashes for no real reason. When are we going to see Stoner complete a real race this year ???

Stoner needs a confidence boost , but it will never happen if he keeps on crashing.

Just look at Rossi. He settles for 2nd , although it is very painful for him. But he knows that 2nd is much better than DNF.

By the way , I find Lorenzo's theatrics just "stupid". We have seen all of these before.

I thought it was the most entertaining moment of a relatively dull afternoon racing (Moto2 excepted). I like to see theatrical celebrations (the more bizarre the better for me) and think it is much better and more entertaining for the fans at the circuit than just seeing the winner cruise round with his hand in the air : )

I don't think Lorenzo will ever manage to match his near death drowning celebration at jerez though : )

What amazes me is that Rossi (and now Lorenzo) put so much thought and planning into these post race antics on top of all the usual race weekend 'things to do'. And of course all wasted if they don't win : )

Just gives the two of them that much more incentive to win, then!

By the way, I didn't find the MotoGP race boring at all. The fighting between team mates was very entertaining. The Fiat Yamaha fight went on for most of the race, and when that one was pretty much decided the Repsol Honda fight began.

Seeing Nicky pass the rat weasel on the final lap was just icing on the cake.

I don't no one thinks Stoner is lazy as you call him. everyone has a different way to prepare. As far as crashing i think its bad luck becuase in the practice he shows he is still on of the top 3 guns up there.
if you think about becuase of casey, Nicky has been able to finish one spot closer to the top.

I don't htink its over for casey and he will bounce back.

Whatever Casey Stoner's issue is, I don't think that he has the inner drive to, once again, be a world champion. If it's a motivation issue, then that is going to be a hard thing for his sponsors to look past when it comes time to sign new contracts.

I new you'd say that..........

Not bad actually considering the hash Yamaha made of the bike over the winter. Lap times for both Crutchlow & Toseland are consistently faster than Ben was last year so good things are hopefully coming.

The tires are a lot better this year ,that is why lap times are better for all the riders this year, not just the Yamaha riders.

At some tracks the tyres are the same as used last year apparently, although there have been improvements at some tracks such as Portimao with the new tyre.

I actually think the whole front of the field has improved since last year (with the exception of the factory Ducati squad maybe)and although it is always going to be contentious I don't think that Haga and Spies would have had it so easy if the Aprilia and Suzuki had got themselves sorted as they have done this season.

You can never tell who has done a better job with the equipment they have unless they are all racing in the same series at the same time of course, so the 'who is better than who' argument could rage forever.

There's no telling what House and Spies could've done with the 2010 R1 either. House is an old hand at tuning Superbikes for Ben. In interviews, however, he's stated that the GP bikes are a whole 'nother ball of wax. Little tiny changes to those bikes make HUGE differences to the bikes. He's learning as he's going along from the rest of the Tech3 mechanics. He knows Ben, they know the bikes.

You are dead right : )
Unfortunately after a couple of no scores and 3 crashes on the bounce it can be hard to get back 'in the zone' and know exactly what caused the problems. With Edwards also suffering a poor result in France it won't be easy for Tech 3 to put their finger on the problems both riders are currently suffering (especially given the dominant performance of those OTHER Yamahas).
Toseland looked pretty good on the M1 Yamaha until he had a series of unforced crashes and then just seemed to lose his way and lack all confidence in the bike after that (as did Melandri at Ducati). Hopefully Speez will get his mojo back for Mugello : )

First of all , noone knows how similar the factory and the tech3 M1s are. I suspect they are completely different.

Universally , Spies is considered more talented than Toseland, so lets get this comparison out of the way.

Will Spies establish himself in motoGP ?? It seems he will. But he is a rookie , and he is the only rookie that does not know the tracks. I look forward to Laguna and Indy and the rest of the Euro tracks that Spies has raced before.

I also look forward to watch Hayden in Laguna this year.

I'm looking forward to Hayden at Indy and Spies at Laguna Seca. Nicky knows Laguna well, but so does Ben. Nicky, however, has had the advantage of riding a MotoGP bike on that track several years running. Ben hasn't, but in AMA Superbike it was always one of his BEST tracks.

Hayden has SLIGHTLY more experience at Indy than Ben. Ben got to practice at Indy on the Suzuki along with all of the other test riders before the first event held there, but he's only raced there once. Nicky's raced there a couple of times.
