I'm surprised Steve has'nt posted this yet.Shawn won the formula 1 race at Willow yesterday, against some very strong R1's,CBR's and GSXR's.He also set some track records doing so.You all know he was on a 1098R duc.Steve as always raced in like 10 races,he's most certainly still asleep.
danny.

Higbee was awesome.

I couldn't hear the announcement for the last couple laps as I had the next race but he re-broke his lap record a few times in the race.

He raced 5 races, 4 firsts, one second.

The Toyota Formula One race is a no-restrictions race. Jeremy Toye fried his ECM the day before and couldn't make it. Toye's big bike usually wins the race but this time, Shawn would have given him a run for the money.

Shawn's best yesterday - 1:21.063

Some of Toye's best:
1:21.262
1:21.951
1:20.775

Aussie Dave Anthony was out and looked like he was putting a move on Shawn but once Shawn saw him there, he KEPT his distance and the win.

What was even more impressive was hearing Shawn and Eric Nolan talking afterwards about further adjustments to the handling - and the problems associated with the chassis setup. As good as it may have seemed, Shawn is still working on the handling. It's hard to relate to pushing a bike as hard as he does.

Shawn is an extraordinary rider and it's very hard to relate to riding at that level... ESPECIALLY when getting passed at speed! Impressive all the way around.

You guys ALL ought to stop by Shawn's pits at Fon-Tucky next weekend and say HI and wish him well.

He's truly one of the good guys.

Here's a crappy cell phone pic with Shawn on the top box:

As Slaughter eluded to. There's a lot more "setup" to be done to get the Duc to work right. Observing the tire wear indicates chatter on corner exits.

Congratulations to Shawn and Eric Nolan!

Hopefully .. getting the setup right for this Duc does not turn into a science project.

Steve:
It is California Speedway!
Not FonTucky!!

We've had this discussion before. I won't tell Melanie you are referring to the venue the way you do.

Since Speed TV can't seem to figure out what kind of bike Shawn is racing can anyone confirm that Shawn is racing a r6 in DSB and a Duc in American Super Bike?

Whats wrong with SPEED? I did hear them talk about how the Duc's are allowed to run a 1200cc in American Super Bike and again during the WSB race. Is this not the same thing Buell was run through the ringer for just last year but when its a DUC its OK?? The racing just isn't as good without the Buells.

Sorry Rant Off
