Give that boy an XB-RR NOW!!!!

Better still, get him on a ship to Europe and into Moto GP before he falls into a national backwater in Superbikes for years....

He won the Amateur 600 race also, but was DQ'd because his bike could not be dynoed due to running out of fuel. This kid is going to be hot. Buell should keep a close eye on him. I believe one has to be 16 in order to race in the AMA. Josh Herrin started mid-season with the Graves Yamaha team, shortly after his 16th birthday.

As a side note, he blew everyone away in qualifying, including Steve Crevier and Darren James. They pulled him off the track before qualifying ended

In the 600 race he was running about 3 seconds a lap faster than the second place before the second red flag came out.

This kid is incredible. He started racing the mini road racers, and I think is a 7 time champion with the amra (Alberta mini road racing association).

His times on the Buell were about the same as the slowest of the pros on the 1 litre bikes. The track record was set on Sat with a lap of 1:16.052

Everyone, from the Buell pros to the superbike riders was talking about him and shaking their heads. "That kid is fast" was the conversation of the weekend.

If he can continue without getting hurt I think he's got the stuff for the big leagues.

Oh yeah, Erik if you want to get the next generation interested here's your chance. Think what sort of publicity having a 14 year old champion riding for you would do for the P.R. A 14 year old riding "what kind of bike"?

Maybe a new face is needed for the XBRR in Laguna!

Excellent idea. They could run Jeremy on the Warrs bike as the cagey veteran. And Brett McCormick on Hals XBRR (since they are all tied up in drag racing BARF!) as the fresh face boy wonder. Although he may be to young to participate. Maybe José knows the specifics on age and licensing requirements for the AMA.

That lad needs to get into 250 GP racing as soon as possible. By the time talented youngsters work their way through and get bogged down in the various levels of national competition they end up being too old or overlooked for GP's.

There are lots of very talented riders who have missed out on the GP chances because they stuck around in domestic championships for just too long.

The only way is to bite the bullet and get into something like the Spanish or European 125/250 championships, which are the current breeding ground for pretty much all of the current GP stars on the up.

The UK has Bradley Smith (15) in 125 GP's at the moment and there are plenty of other very young riders making a name for themselves as well.

I'm sure there must be some big Canadian businesses that could provide the finance to support one of their own in MotoGP, especially as he would be the only Canadian rider in the series (that I know of anyway).

i saw all those races & he just kept taking trophy after trophy back to his caravan on his dirtbike .. smiling, typical early teen .. gangly in an oversized suit.

the buzz also says he'll probably be the fastest in canada by next year.

also, there is another kid - 11 i think - in the amra who is said to be the next brett .. i watched him on the go-kart track, leave everyone for dead immediately & just keep getting away - like pedrosa at donington this yr -

on a highly modified formula thunder yammy dirtbike w/ clipons, tire warmers & MAN, that kid was smooth & consistent .. NEVER missed his markers & it was an action replay every lap, as he never deviated from his line .. was smoother than smooth & left me gobsmacked!

Hey I've got something in common with Mr. Brett McCormick. I'm riding a Buell and I'm from Saskatoon also. Too bad that's where the similarity ends. LOL

FYI: You have to be 16 to get an AMA pro road racing license.

In USGPRU, two of the people who are winning races are younger than Brett. Elena Meyers is 12!

Try going back to college Dora.
I feel like an old old man each new semester with all these kids!
I'm just old enough to be their Dad.

How did that happen?
