 Man, if that ain't PERFECT racing weather, I don't know what is. SCTA is saying they've got 9 miles of dry salt now, and with no rain in the forecast we should have a really good race course by Wednesday. Man, I'm getting pumped! Gotta put one bike back together this weekend, I took it apart not really expecting to be able to race it (I'll take full credit for the race happening, thank you). Spent the day running my tail off trying to line up the pieces. Hopefully I can swing it. Rooms at the Stateline are only $14.95 a night, except Friday night which is $79.95. Anyone who's considering going, the time is now! | ||

Okay, last piece just fell into place ... BIG THANKS to Wes at Cycle-Rama, Justin & John at HCHD, Mark & Leonard at Frontline, and Bill Cobb ... due to the extraordinary efforts of all of these fine folks, tomorrow should be reassemble M2 day. It'll be the same 120hp configuration but hey, that's alright. Sunday I pack up, Tuesday odarkthirty I'm on the road. I'll have the RR with me as well obviously and probably the Blast too, although I'm not sure I'll run the Blast. Susan's not going so it'll be a distant third priority. | ||

Aaron,just made reservations at Stateline.Picked up an overtime shift saturday so I can almost afford this stuff.I will finish packing on monday and leave tuesday early.See ya about 5:00 on the salt.Put up a banner or something so I can park near you.I have to work at getting up for this as I was already focused on El Mirage in november cuz everyone was so sure this event was NOT happening. | ||

Aaron, Just got a room at Stateline a few minutes ago. They’re filling up quick. Matter of fact they’re at –14 when I spoke with her. BTW, you know where all the women come from that you mentioned? They have a convention every year there called Deer Widows (or something like that). Apparently all the wives end up at Stateline while the husbands are deer hunting around the Salt Lake area. The girl at the desk told me the male dancers would be there (to bad for Pammy and Rocket). Fireman Jim better bring his thong and a potato. Cheers, -JW:>  | ||

I hope ALL you Racers get what we wish for, and I know I say this for some others, I wanna go down the pub next week and tell my friends a 'more or less ' streetable Buell just cracked 200 MPH on the Salt !!! It's achievements like this that make Buell ownership even more special than it already is, and that's not to take anything away from the other guys 'going for it' too. Well, we haven't achieved anything yet SEAN, we'll do our best though. We're here ... Richard, me, Chop/Melissa/Chop dad, FMJ, Jim Witt. Expecting the Frontline cycles contingent in the morning. Met up with Sam. Also met the Guzzi boys. Bartels HD has a competing entry, same class as the RR. Nice looking bike. Salt is really good. A litte wet on the way in, but the paddock is dry and tacky and they say the course is good. AW | ||

Richard's first pass of the day on the Team Elves 'Kick Ass' Express was 188mph!!! The gearing was a little off and no nitrous was involved! I would say that Aaron and Team Elves are off to a great start. That's right...who's yer Daddy?! | ||

I think that was the class... I think they are going to make an effort to break 200 without the bottle. Maybe 220 with....wouldn't that be ever, so cool? I hope I'm not jinxing anyone. I have the utmost faith in those boys that they will get things done. (Just in case, though, I do have my fingers crossed and my lucky rabbit foot in my pocket.) | ||

I don't know what the record was or if the even was one, but I do know 188 is the new record if they back it up. I have no new news. I am getting very anxious. I can't wait to hear what the M2 does as well. |
