Thought I might as well post how we did in 2005 as we retired our Tube Framed S1 race bike and built an XB for this class. 1210cc +1mm air cooled V twins were added this year to run with SV 650, 450cc water cooled inline fours with multi valves.

Ten races on three different tracks with a total of sixty riders in class. When we didn't get the bike done in time, we missed the first race but our rider borrowed a 400 cc four, started 40 th and finished 13
Our 1st race:
Started 13th finished 6th. Few minor tuning issues (using a PC3) at 105 HP
Our 2nd race:
Started 6 finished 5th using the Buell Race ECM with the tuning at about 75 % and 108 HP
Our 3rd race:
Started 4th and won using the Buell Race ECM with the tuning
at about 90% 118 HP
Our 4th race:
Started 1st and the guy we beat in the previous race took us
out on the 2nd lap totaled bike
Our 5th race three weeks later with a new frame and no time to set it up started in third row 22nd going 1st turn and finished 10th
Our 6th race:
Started in the third row finished 5th
Our 7th race bike is all dialed in best lap time ever tuning is at about 95% 118 + HP and we crash in practice (Did Not Start)
Our 8th race bike is at 100% Black Flag for noise on Sat. Repack Ti Force muffler overnight and get BF'ed again as we move into 4th place on lap 4 of open twins. Replace Ti Force header with the Buell Rinehart (loud) pipe and get the meatball again at 109 db as we move into 4th place in our F4 class
Save $2000 and didn't show up for the last race need another Ti Force system and they couldn't help with just a can

So to make a long story short we started 6 of the 10 and finished 9th overall. and that will give us a 2nd or 3rd row start for the first race next year. ... Terry

Thanks for sharing that Terry! I had heard about the win, and was wondering how the rest of the season had gone. Sounds like a rewarding and then frustrating season.

Any promise to maybe swapping the tailpipe for one that points away from the sound meter? I cannot believe they would BF a racer during a race for noise limit violation. Sounds like politics or personal issues going on. That would be very unfortunate. Hope that's not the case. Definitely sounds like you have a strong rivalry going on.

The MotoGP bikes are running at 130dBa, which is only 128 times louder than 109dBa.

Then again, 109dBa is eight times louder than 100dBa.

We'll be rooting for you in '06!

That ~120 rwhp is the best I've heard of for a big bore XB9. Congratulations on achieving that in a reliable roadracing machine.
