Any here have a key on ,ignition sequence on , cel flashes 8 to 10 times , break and repeat flashes. Turn ignition off , go back thru procedure and no flashes , then start motor? Happening more often now and I didn't restart the other day till I got home. Turned igntion off .went thru procedure and no flashing cel. Bike run's no different in any scenario.
Second unassociated thought, anyone thought of running 2 batteries in these xb bikes? Opinions in a positive light, please!

Always start at the battery, checking all connections and cable terminations.

Cracked solder joint on the ECM PCB.

Have you checked for trouble codes?
Also, if your engine is overheating, or maybe the temp sensor is sending an over temp signal...???

I run the stock battery along with a lithium on my 08 1125r, I find it to help given the low stator output and my high electrical load.

Please, tell more about that lithium. Brand, type, and any special connections or aids to keep it alive.

Ourdee, was there more to your message?
So far no codes. Firm or pending. Haven't checked since last episode. Been pulling my 96 flhr apart since saturday, looking for shiny metal dispersal.
Froggy, have you found the mismatch of batteries to be a problem?

I must have rushed and hit the wrong button while posting that as I do it all manually, whoops.

No problems with the two batteries. It starts stronger and gives the best of both world with having the extra CCA in the tight tail section of the 1125R, and it doesn't struggle to start when it is freezing out.

The Lithium I'm using is old now, I'm not even sure if it still even is holding much of a charge so I'll have to disconnect it and see. It was made by Speedcell, I got it in 2008 and it has two wires coming off of it instead of regular battery terminals, so I just connected them in with the lead battery screws.

Nope.

Thanks Froggy.
