I found a 08 Uy for sale for $5700, it has all 3 bags, 24K miles.

I had an 06 some years ago and regretted when I sold, so now I really would like to make this move.

Some questions, mine had a bad voltage regulator, I sold with 30K miles or something like that... I know that some had wheel bearing issues, engine fan, and other small issues...

is there any known problems with the 08-later models, anything in particular that I should look for??

Also, how hard is to get parts (even oil filters and gaskets) now that Buell is closed so is the EBR??

As I said, I had 2 Buells before, an 01 X1 and the Uly, but this was when I was working at a dealer and Buell was still in production.

Thanks

Parts? I got filters and oil at the Harley dealer last week. It they don't have it ask Al at American Sport Bike. The problems with your 06, hmm. The 08 I had: rear wheel bearings went, voltage regulator went, belt lost some teeth, head bearings wore out with some rust in them. Kickstand was good. I sold mine at 32,000 miles. I miss it. Find the flavor you want. They are out there. It is worth what you are willing to pay for it. Collect all the spares that are in the garage with it. =]

The only 2008-specific issue I am aware of is the primary cover lips pop off.
It happened to mine and I followed the thread here to install a chunk of steel plate in there instead. (Square D makes the best aftermarket motorcycle parts!)

I have a 06 on my lift right now, all basic service parts were in stock as were fork seal, had to order neck bearings and fork dust covers.
I recently put a throttle body on my 06 Uly which I picked up on fleabay new as it is obsolete, how I have missed her but it's running like a top, turned 67k today!

The only other thing you need to know about the 08-up Uly is they get somewhat worse fuel mileage than the earlier bikes. I installed an 09 engine in my 07 after a crank pin failure and my mileage dropped from ~50 MPG to ~45 MPG.

It's been 4 days. Where are the pictures? Did you get it? etc.
