I think that I've heard (on this forum) that the EBR ECMs are only available setup for after market exhaust systems, and they no longer sell one setup for the stock exhaust. Is this correct, or am I misinformed?

The EBR website only lists ECMs for modified exhaust, last time I looked.

I guess that's a bit hard to read... But the last option is "stock"

From the EBR Website

Engine Control Module for XB12 model motorcycles with various exhaust systems such as XB ProSeries, Jardine, Drummer, Hawk, D&D, Force, or Special Ops. This ECM also works with a free flowing air filter. 2004 to 2007 model year bikes require zeroing of the TPS (throttle position sensor) via Digital Tech at your local dealer. 2008-newer bikes also require a TPS reset, but this procedure can be performed by the owner without any necessary specialty tools.

Use of this ECM is not intended for vehicles operated on the road or otherwise subject to emission control requirements.
In California, this product should not be used on any vehicle that is registered or licensed for use on public roads.

**Model Years Available: 2004 - 2010
**Calibrations designed for non-catalyst stock headpipe**

Please select your exhaust system & model year from the drop-down menu below to ensure the proper ECM match.
PLEASE NOTE: NOT ALL EXHAUST OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR EVERY MODEL YEAR

Choose from one of the following exhaust options:
Buell® Motorcycle Co. Pro Series
D&D
Drummer
Drummer SS
Jardine RT-1
Special Ops
Hawk
Force
Stock

It's does appear as though "stock" is not available for the 2004-2007 Models. Only 2008-2009

Thanks for the responses. My Uly is an '07, so I guess I'm out of luck, unless I changed exhaust. Too bad, I like the nice quiet stock exhaust.

Doesn't Drummer make a "quiet" version of their muffler?

I think the reason EBR previously stated for not offering stock exhaust maps for the 04 to 07 models was because they thought the original stock map was about as good as it gets.

(Just ignore the single hiccup 1 mile from your house on a cold bike).

+1...Another member posted a response from EBR that stated something about the race ECM doesn't do much for the '07 models unless it is paired with a race exhaust. I think the EPA restrictions changed in '08 which is why '08 and later bikes see the most improvement from this ECM upgrade.

Arry, I'm with you on the stock exhaust... my wife however liked the sound (drummer & Race ECM) of our original 09 uly and our 00 S3T with the White Bros pipe. So I did what any prudent husband does, I bought the lady a Spec Ops pipe since it seemed the quietest of any but the Buell Race pipe. A couple of weeks later I followed that with an EBR ECM. Wow, what a difference these two make, the bike ran very well stock so I didn't expect much except noise but this setup really wakes the Uly up, it has more power at any rpm but especially from 2-4K..

EBR used to sell the Race ECM for stock 04-07 XB12 bikes, but they discontinued it. It is a shame, while it may have not been a huge improvement over stock for those years, it was a significantly cheaper option than buying a brand new ECM from Harley should you need one.
