Author Message   Yan Posted on Sunday, June 09, 2013 - 11:24 pm:        Hi there, does anyone know what this hose is? It runs on the right side, above the front sprocket cover, comes down around the starter and goes into the engine between the starter and the rear cylinder. It's shown in the pic attached, not sure it's very clear though, and for some reason the pic is rotated 90 degrees counter-clock wise. Reason I am asking is that this hose is bundled up with a few cables by a zip-tie, and I noticed the zip-tie broke and the hose was touching against the exhaust pipe and melted somewhat, not all the way through I think, so I put some electrical tape around it (as you may be able to see in the pic), and I put the whole setup together with a new zip-tie. The hose just vents expanded/contracted gases from the primary. No real pressure or liquids pass through. Worst case is that you get a dirty spot from accumulated oily gases around the punctured hose. Probably good not to let too much water get down it if you ride in rain. A patch or tape should be fine. Just ride the fooka   Yan Posted on Monday, June 10, 2013 - 10:04 am:        Thanks again! I took the electric tape off and took another look at the hose, now at bright day light. It clearly did not burn all the way through, so I put layers of electrical tape back on and zip tied it, but this time to a narrow metal pipe that runs behind the top of the front sprocket cover, this way it pulls the hose down and to the rear - directly away from the exhaust pipe.
