I had posted about the electrical issues I was having and received a lot of help. Thanks. We ended up replacing the stator and VR, and all seems well. I drove around tonight for quite a bit, and got on it pretty hard. No blown light bulbs, and everything ran great. Now, my question, and I am probably being paranoid. I am noticing a lot of popping noise from inside the case where the stator and the chain and , well I guess maybe its the primary case, because that's the oil we put in it. So, at idle, I feel like there is more noise coming from in that case. I watched a bunch of videos on youtube, but couldn't really tell if its normal, and I cant remember if I heard that before. So, is it normal for there to be noises coming from inside that case at idle. And yes, it feels good to be riding again. |

Is your primary chain properly adjusted? |

Since yours is an 06 and you had to remove the crank sprocket to change the stator and then put it back together did you use the updated torque specs for the crank nut? If you used the torque specs. in the manual it may not be enough. They sent out a bulletin stating the higher spec. Did you use red Loctite on oil free surfaces? A loose crank nut will sound like a rod knocking. If it's a grinding noise then it could be the clutch bearing going bad. If that's all good then I agree with Ratbuell. |

I don't think we used the updated torque specs. The chain makes sense also. Maybe its loose and slapping the cover a bit. Thanks |
