After changing to PR2s I had a head bearing issue but fixed it by setting them up right. But I still had a handling problem as it just did not feel right. It was hard work tying to make the bike counter steer and it sort of "lumbered" in tight traffic situations. Long story short I had just changed from a combination air pump and gauge to a new system. I messed about with the suspension having used the same numbers for tire pressures I had used with the PR2s, on the 06 bike, without effect. So I went back to the "basics" of tire pressures and how they felt on the road. Seems like my old system was giving me bad numbers or at least not the same as my new system. I had this before using gas station air meters which is why I always use my own. It now drops into corners, with counter steering, and slow speed stuff is better. So just remember those tire pressures. | ||

I went from Metzeler R6's to PR2's and boy are they slow to turn in! The Metzeler's were so quick in the turns they really made the PR2's feel sllooowww! Once I adjusted my riding, which included a lot more counter steering, they were fine and lasted a lot longer than the R6's. On the track R6's, on the street, PR2's, 3's, Trails, or the New Metzeler Tourance Next. | ||

On the road the PR2s warm up quick and do not, unlike older rubber for which you would need to account for, change much. Tourance are OEM on the GS bike and said to be good but I guess you need to try them. | ||

As soon as the Trails wear out that's exactly what I'm going to do. I have many miles of experience on Metzelers and have loved them. Looking forward to checking out the new "Next". |
