FIRST POST!!!! I just bought a 2007 with only 2300 miles on it and it was delivered to my house tonight. I really think I am going to enjoy this bike.

QUESTION???? The front has a rattle that is driving me insane. It comes from the windshield area but I can't figure out what it is. I grab various parts and pieces while I am driving but the noise doesn't stop... Bike is completely stock and it happens while at lower than the sweet spot rpm's 2-3k. Is there a common fix our do I need to tear the entire front apart and look one piece at a time? Thanks}

Hallo...

It is in all probablity the horn rattling up against the inside of the flyscreen...If this is the case, you will see a wear mark in the inside of the flyscreen where the top portion of the horn is hitting/rubbing against it...To solve this problem, relocate the horn (easier said than done) or simply turn it around on it's stem so that the business end of the horn points towards the rider of the bike as I once did...The horn still works, can be heard just as loud to the traffic in front of you and it is the quickest, simplest fix - in my humble opinion...HTH...

What Eric said.

Do not try to just bend it back out of the way. That will work for a short while, but the bracket will eventually crack and fail, letting it fall off.

The 08+ bikes have a different horn bracket to prevent this issue

I just added some foam tape to the inside of the flyscreen and it solved the rattle.

"The 08+ bikes have a different horn bracket to prevent this issue"
Nope.
Mine did it too.
I had to bend it just right to get it to not buzz. After 15,000 miles, it fatigued and broke. I ended up chopping an old brake pad for a new bracket.

P.S.
I posted up my hack here.

I have a clunky rattle at just below 2000 RPM that seems to be a pair of connectors vibrating against the back of the instrument panel. they have a zip tie but they keep slipping out of it. I really should tape them down or something.

I've had a chirpy/squeaky/rattle at low RPMs off the line for a few thousand miles.
It sounds like it's coming from the front (Not keychain!)
I have gone under the airbox and behind the flyscreen but found nothing wrong.

Perhaps front isolator? it looks OK but I know they can look fine and still be on the way out.

My 08 didn't rattle up front until the horn strap broke, and I didn't even touch it. It is now solidly mounted to the main bracket and still works fine with no clearance problem.
Just for the hell of it, check the front muffler support bolt.I've broken mine a few times and it sounds just like a rattle up front that you just can't locate.
