Does anyone know the part number for the bracket that locks the seat to the bike on an 09 XT? just went to go for a ride and the seat was loose. One of the bolts wiggled out at some point in time and now the bracket is broke. Called the nearest dealership for repair(still under warranty) and they asked if I knew the part number.

Gregory- do you mean the silver U-shaped bracket that's actually attached to the underside of the seat?

I checked my 07 parts book and there's no listing for it, which must mean it only comes with the seat. You may have to figure out how to make a replacement or worst case have the old one welded.

So,if I move the broken bracket from the XB to the X (both under warranty) will they upgrade the ECM reflash to accomodate the recently installed comfort kit as part of what they do? the reflash was included with my !st service on the XT, but purchased the X used and don;t know its history but do know that the reflash has not deen done. Thanks to the assistance here part is under order, waiting for a call about part coming in. Issue seems repaired with a new bolt for now. Does anyone know why the XT would have bolts with an SAE head, but the X has bolts with TORX heads? build dates are in the same month on 09 and VIN's are within a few of each other
