Running with the O2 Sensor Disconnected? I just got off of phone with Steve Mullen, of NightRider - he was kind enough to take the time to talk with me about my '07 Uly. See LINK: http://www.nightrider.com/parts/ I explained that my bike runs great when set at 109% AFV - then over time, the ECM drops it back down into the high 90's to low 100's, where it runs less great. He suggested that I set the AFV at 109% then disconnect the O2 Sensor, and run it that way. I thought of putting a switch in-line, but the extra wire (to and from the switch) might create more resistance, and thereby a false reading to the ECM. Any thoughts on this. Thanks. . | ||

If you want to falsify your readings, just change the voltages in ECMspy. | ||

I wouldn't run it disconnected. Then humidity, temperature, altitude, would change the way your bike runs. Don't change the hardware, change the software instead. Just fatten up the maps like so many here have done. No need to get your hand dirty to fix your bike = Welcome to the FUTURE!!!  | ||

But with that logic, then bikes with carburetors should never run properly. I fattened up my maps via EcmSpy and it runs especially well if the AFV is at 109% I am just after the easiest way to keep the AFV at 109%, because I'm basically lazy. . | ||

 But I agree with Nat, if your bike will not hold an AFV and run good then you need to work on your map. Like the Nightrider guy said, you can disable the O2, but that is only a bandaid and doesn't fix the problem with your mapping. | ||

1.12.27 but that dosen't matter, you could still edit it through the EEPROM hex. I recommend you switch to Tunerpro anyway, it has more functionality and is still being updated.. | ||

That would depend on what calibration you have, but it is easier to adjust that here.  | ||

I found EcmSpy V 1.12.26 and installed it - seems very similar to .27 EDIT: I just changed the Min. AFV to 109% and left the max. at 130%, which is where it was. Gracias a todos! . (Message edited by johnboy777 on August 10, 2010) |
