Ok got my heads back from the shop and they look great. Started to replace the seals and gaskets. When I got to taking off the front jug I found that I only had one cylinder insert/dowel. Their were two on the rear cylinder and only one one the front. Is their only supposed to be one on the front cylinder?

Was it in the head when you sent it out for work and the machinist removed it and did not send it back?

I am sure if you go to any H-D(spit) dealer and ask for one for a Sportster they have 20 on the shelf. But what ever you do, do not under any circumstances tell them that it is for a Buell, because then all 20 will mysteriously dissappear.

I'm not sure if it was in the head when I sent it to the shop. Do I need a specific year for the cylinder sleeve/dowel?

I suspect that any Sportster dowel pin will work. OK, not actually a "pin", but...

Regarding reassembly: it is straightforward, but there is a definite ORDER involved. Some parts must be installed while engine is rotated down. DAMHIK, of course.

Well the only part of the motor that is still in the bike is the base. I took the jugs and everything above it off.

I think 2007 on all sportsters use the
thunderstorm heads? I replaced my rocker-
cover seal with one from a sportster.....
