I lost the ground to my headlight. the ground at the connector where everyone does the headlight mod is open.

Is this ground wire one of the 4 that attaches to the ground on the front of the steering head?

If yes, I might just run a new ground because I run two 35w HID's the same time.

I just wanted to check there was not something switching the ground. I hate to rip into the harness, even though it's inevitable but I will wait until other wires start to break. Man that harness sure flexes where it comes out of the frame guide at the head.

Yes, It's one of those grounds. Don't run a ground to the battery, i's not necessary and just clutters up the wiring.. The stock ground location is fine, you just need more flexible wire. http://s678.photobucket.com/albums/vv141/ronmold/U ly%20flyscreen%20grounds/?albumview=slideshow

I did a repair similar to Ronmold's a few weeks back. I picked up a piece of #8 marine wire and some heavy ring terminals from our local Eastern Marine store. The stock grounding system sucks just about everywhere.
