Hi Xbeau12s, I've been thinking of selling my '08 XB12X (lusting after a BMW GSA, oh the shame of it). Just had the full 10K service, new pads, new tires (Dunlop 616s with 600 miles on them, adding 30 a day though). More goodies: It's got a warranty through 01/2013, pretty sure it's transferable. Oil temperature dip-stick. Comfort kit with the flash (I personally think that the flash is the only way to go). Has both frame and wheel sliders (virgin, never dropped except once in sand at the beach at 2mph), upgraded pegs (and the stock ones), oil-cooler guard. Touratech sidestand foot. Wired for zumo 550 and battery tender. The bad: Steering head has a 1/32" deep groove where the steering lock didn't stop somebody from being able to turn the forks about a year ago. That forcing the bars to turn broke the ignition lock (which I replaced of course), but I'm surprised at how easy it was. Anyway, don't rely on the steering lock for security. The bike was originally barrier orange, but I traded the dealer for his black front panel and air cover, keeping just the orange seat. I think it looks real sharp that way, just a hint of color. No luggage, but I do have the tall windshield, spare belt, couple of oil filters, and the full set of manuals (owner, service, diagnostics, wiring). PM me if you want some pictures. I've been mulling over the price, it's got a nice set of farkles, new tires, and pads, plus 3 more years on the extended warranty (which includes tires/wheels). The warranty alone cost over a grand, then add brand new tires, brake pacs, and all the farkles. If you don't want the warranty, I believe that they'll let me cancel it for some pro-rated refund and I'll drop the price by that much. I haven't called them yet for the full details, but this is the HD warranty so it's good at all shops. I was thinking of asking $8K. Let me know if you're interested. Steve

Stoneageman, Don't do it!!! I came to the Uly from a BMW R1150GS and the Buell is superior is so many ways, starting with the overall finish and ending with the fun factor. Now a confession...... I went over to the Dark Side last summer and bought a Triumph Tiger 1050. A lovely bike with a great motor..... But....... It wasn't a Buell...... So, 2 days ago I put down a deposit on a Racing Red XT which, I am told is one of the last shipment of Buells to leave the factory for the UK. The moral of the story is you'll be sorry if you sell it!!!!! |

Beau, Still offering my '08...dealership serviced, garaged, pick your seat, service manual and 1/2 cover included. The bike has never been off road and has had a very pampered life! I'll work with you a bit on the price...give me a yell. |

Thanks for the offer but I already have one scoped out and hopefully it will be in my driveway before the warm weather gets here! |

well I might be in the market again. Would anybody pick the 08 over the 07? And why? |

The 08 has several improvements, it has less steering lock a beefier crank, and you don't have to take it to the dealer (or use ECM Spy) to reset the TPS. I think they upgraded the alternator as well. Having said that, I have an 07, and am quite satisfied with it. In fact, I wish I was riding it now instead of sitting in this damned office pretending to listen to this conference call, and posting here.... |

haha know what you mean. I should be working but it's drag ass friday. I don't think you could tell the difference to much riding the 07 or 08. The hard luggage is very appealing to me though. hmmmmmm... |
