Has anyone used the Palmer windshield brackets with the tall shield stock on a XT? If so did the plastic flyscreen flex to much? I assume one may need the Madstad Aluminum flyscreen to correct this. |

I have the Palmer brackets with the Palmer tall screen which is larger than the xt screen. When I ran just the tall Buell screen the flex is no problem, but now that I switched to the larger palmer screen I added the braces (Palmer) and its just fine. |

I have that set-up. It shakes like the turn signals at idle but is just fine once under way. Get the braces if you are concerned about it, they don't cost much if you choose not to use them. |

i am more than happy with the palmer bracket with his tall windscreen and support bracket. and as far as the madstad goes, i didn't think of them so i can't say. any bracket is better than the stock x/xt windscreen. |

I have the Madstad with their 16" shield. The new shield is 18" I believe. The brackets work well without any braces but you must change the flyscreen. Some say it was a simple bolt on but I had to elongate the holes to get it to fit. Since the flyscreen supports are cast and bolted together they are not all created equal. |

This is a picture of mine with the Madstad and 16 inch shield and the Palmer forward foot rest. I know,I have a headlight out.

Madstad is good stuff...ordered it then canceled...cannot bring myself to remove the high speed orange fly screen. Ordered Palmer. Excellent too. |

i am currently using the madstad with the short cali scientific shield and memphis shades lowers. i like this the best no extra bracing so far. tall buell xt shield is good also. memphis shades lowers really made a positive difference |

I have the Madstad and was wondering if anybody runs a taller screen for the winter? Please provide links. Thanks |

How does one source a set of the Palmer brackets? I've done some digging and only find broken links or references to eBay pages that say the listing is no longer valid. |

I wonder if it would be possible to mount the original plastic flyscreen on top of the Madstad replacement screen, so as to retain the stock color? |

You probably would have to do some cutting for the brackets to slide through, and then use longer screws. Or you could just get the Palmer kit and forget about it.

Take your original replacement screen to an autobody parts store and have them mix you up the smallest can of paint you can buy. Then get a touch up spray gun ($14.00) from Harbor freight and paint the Madstad cover. Might even be able to find a color match from a shaky can. |

Froggy - that's beautiful - I wish I could still get the tall black seat so I could change to blue. |
