Hey every one I'm heading to Deals Gap from Maine in October, this will be my third visit, first time on the Uly.
There will be a party of four going.
We are taking the slab down, and two lane or less back.
Does anyone have suggested south north routes worth running,we will be time limited.(4 Days)
A Google map or GPS coordinates would be cool.
Tagalongs always welcome.

If your thinking of taking I81 DO NOT TAKE I81 SOUTH through PA!!!!

It took an extra 2 hours to get past the Lenox to Hazlton area. If you have to go that way figure a route arond that area east or west. BTW there is construction on the 476 I81 exit but clear south to 78.

If you can catch I81 south from I78 out of NYC Via Allentown it will be longer but the time you save from the Wahington and Batimore area on I95 will be worth it. I've done both.

Just did that run from northern NY. 5 nights 4 days, ny to Front Royal, VA 1st Night. Day 1 Skyway and BRPW to Asheville, NC (could have gone further but we got a late start). Day 2 Asheville to Cherohala, Dragon, Lexington, VA. Day 3 Lexington, VA to Gouverneur, NY. Another day would have been nice but we were fighting afternoon T-showers everyday. A 4th day will give you time slabing it from Maine.

360 near Tellico will have a tricky right hand turn. If you miss it, you wouldn't be the first.

Wheelybueller,

When in October ?
I'll be taking the Uly up to Robbinsville for the 10th to the 17th.

Unless I decide to take the dogs with me -- 2 Great Danes don't fit on a Uly !
