I was lucky and unlucky enough to get to put 175 miles on 2009 1125 CR today...

after that the Uly felt soooo weird I almost turned around to ask the service manager if they adjusted my bars... then my back and wrists reminded me that they were happy....and butt...

the 125CR will be my next stable mate when the Uly is paid for.... that thing is awesome....

I wanted to hate it so much... the Rotax engine and all... and then I left the parking lot.... that is all the farther it took.... Awesome .... just awesome.... I can see why Froggy want the 1125 Uly to be made... but honestly I won't buy that ... I would still get the 1125Cr and keep the X too....

the clubman bars are really neat... but I might ... might want to get the flat bars.... I don't know.... ohhh... this bike is not for flat straight roads... but I guess none of ours are ... but I feel the XB format is more suited than the 1125 format...

man that was a awesome bike....

Cheers-pete

The 1125 Uly will eventually happy.

If someone knows that it's NOT going to be made, please don't tell me. It would be like finding out porn is not real, and we all know it is.

Hope you can fix the blue bike someday.
We don't need to know how fast it goes.

too late! I already rode one last month. I test rode it for 3 miles and took it back to the dealer. I had to stop once to try and get my leg cramp to stop bothering me. I found it too cramped for my riding style with the club handlebars on it.

I had the same problem two years ago at Road America when test ridding the XB12SS. The foot pegs are too high for me and I get cramps when ridding.

If I ever run into that problem on my Uly, I may just have to get a HD Road King!
It must be my old age!

Froggy- Did you take off the clubmans and do up right bars???

Cyclonedon- Maybe I got luck yesterday and didn't have my hip cramp up on me like I did on the HD XR1200... that thing treated me like the CR did you... before I left the lot on the XR I was aching....

the 1125 powerplant is sweet, the vacuum clutch is silky smooth as well as the tranny.... oh yeah 6 speed.... plus you feel like you are stealing it... I would get a ticket on that one for sure... oh wait i got a ticket on the Uly too...

maybe with the up right bars on the CR it would feel like such a shock going from the CR to the ULY....???

I did a 20-something mile ride on a CR with the higher bars last April. It was a good route through the Connecticut hills on back roads, and I got to give the bike enough of an evaluation to decide if I liked it. It's a nice bike; it makes a lot of power if you keep the engine wound up. If I got one, I'd have to change the ergonomics a bit - higher bars and lower pegs. However, even with those changes, it won't measure up to the way my XT feels. After I finished the Demo, I got back on my XT and felt at home. (I then left for Pennsylvania to join in the Burger Run)
There are many things that I like about the Helicon engine. I like the Hydraulic clutch and the six speed cassette transmission. I like the higher horsepower that it produces. But I don't care for the power delivery as much as the lump; and, as ridiculous as it sounds, I don't care for the mechanical sounds coming from the motor. The pushrod motor sounds and feels much better to me.
The XT is a better bike for me.

I agree with everything you said crusty, I did a similar ride on a CR, however those mechanical sounds to me...were a sign of perfection in engineering. Took me a few miles to get back used to my Uly. I enjoyed the power and precision of the CR.

The only thing I think I might be disappointed with owning one is...that I can not ride it the way it wants to be ridden. I think I would have to restrain myself constantly. But I probably would adjust eventually.

My adrenalin still gets pumping whenever I talk about that bike/ride.

An 1125XT would be nice.

The Lobster came with the upright bars. I liked the clubmans, I need to put some miles on it and then borrow a bike with the clubmans to see which I like better.

Holy crap this thing has power. Trying to break it in I was varying the RPMs, and I couldn't even redline it without it wanting to kill me.

I have ridden the CR several times on accompanying test rides with customers.

I like it more and more each time I ride it.

That said, I want (and will be buying) an XB BEFORE I buy an 1125R/CR.

They are different enough to both possess a spot in the stable.

would love to add a cr to the garage. (after build8ing a bigger garage). closest thing to the cylone, riding position wise. engines a little odd. definitely not an air cooled twin.

btw, nice ride froggy. how about trying to keep this one around for a while will ya.

Never fealt comfortable with the clubmans when I test rode CR #1. Power was awesome but the bars just aren't for me. Have never rode an R. CR#2 had the high bars and unforunately I have been lusting ever since. I hope to add one to the garage next year. I have a hard time not hitting the rev limiter on the XT but never got close on either CR and was having a blast (or is it cube?).

Yep, I was a little too cramped on my CR test ride. I'm sure the taller bars would help, but I don't know if I can get past the lack of legroom for a taller rider (though I know there are plenty of 6' 2-3" CR riders). Another tall buddy of mine got on an R for the same demo ride. I returned from the ride and found him already back, eating a free Frederick H-D/B hotdog...turns out, he felt so weird on the R that he just turned around at the first intersection and parked it back at the dealer. Said he felt like a clown on a toy bike.

After my CR ride, I got back on the Uly and felt like I was lounging on my sofa back home...it was night and day!

That said, it was a riot to ride...the acceleration (and braking) and fulcrum-like handling was a rush.

I think it's interesting that most of us are ga-ga about the CR and not so much the R. The gnarly front end must appeal to us Uly riders.

I don't understand why all you Uly owners are lusting after the CR. The bike is just plain ugly and not in a good way. The engine sounds like garbage and puts out more power than I need in the real world. Did I mention that the bike is hideous with its' giant radiator scoops and strange Cylone headlight? Specifically, I can't stand to look at the new 2010 arctic white model.

I will keep reminding myself of the above paragraph until the day comes that I can afford to purchase an arctic white 1125cr and then I will be broke again and have a white bike as a stable mate for my orange Uly. I figure I can keep my blood pressure down every time I see the bike if I keep telling myself that I hate it...of course this will never work.

I'm lusting after the R, but I haven't ridden it, and trying to decide between a track bike toy and a street bike toy, well the Uly is taking me way faster than I need to go on the street, and the 1125 is an expensive piece of machinery to slide down the track on it's side. (I know how I get on track in a car, so...)

I must be the odd man out. I am lusting over the new blacked out CityX. I really want to ride one of those. It's like a smaller, lighter, more nimble version of the Uly I can really wring the snot out of.

I wouldn't say odd. If someone dropped the money in my lap right now and said you have to go buy two bikes then I would most likely pick up a CR and a CityX...in fact in all actuality I'll probably end up with a CityX first simply because I could pick one up for 5grand or so in the next year.
