On the original 06' fan and still turning strong. Who's got a fan that has lasted longer on an 06' ULY?

I do.. but not the original. Original was replaced @12,270mi. I now have around 41k... so that makes it just under 29K on the second fan.

Mine crapped out around 30K, now I have 18K on my second fan.

I'm not even in the ballpark with you guys. Lost my first at 900 miles and the second at 7000 miles.

Maybe I shouldn't have kept sticking those playing cards in there while it was running just to get that extra motorcycle sound. Some bad habits learned as a kid just can't be broken easily.

My original made it to 20,000. Crapped out 500 miles from home. Nearly at 39,000 now, and none of the nasty death rattle noise the first one made for 10,000 of its last miles.

I think Dr Greg will pip this but mine turned over 89,989km as I pulled into the shed tonight - that's about 51,560 miles and it is the original fan.
Mine is an early build (Jun'05) and I must have lucked out because it has yet to make any undesirable noises.

25,600 miles and still running good!

The fan noise doesn't even bother me anymore, it's just doing what it's suppose to do! Help cool down the engine.

I know that other motorcycles don't have those crazy fans, but then again, I ride a Buell, "different in every sense!"

Ray's fan is way out on the bell curve. Maybe mine will do the same. I think a lot of fan life has to do with how much dust and dirt are processed through it. Hope mine keeps on working for many more miles.

Sounds like the fan is a "wear" part and should be scheduled for replacement at specified intervals. : )
