hi all, I am Lars a 35 yrs old German living in the UK for over 11 yrs now and I have just bought a 06 Black Uly. The bike is a very well look after 1 owner bike and has the right extras...and a little over 9k miles on the clock. here is a picture of the bike: it comes with full luggage, remus pipe, FS Belt tensioner, Airbox mod, right air scoop and few other bits and pieces... I have owned a view bikes over the years and currently share 4 bike with the missus: BMW R1100S, R75/6, F650 and a little Honda CG125 and now the Uly. I always fancied the Uly ever since it came out and yes i could have bought a GS or a KTM but the Uly has soo much more grinfactor! For those of you interested - I keep a website about my bikes and tours with loads of pictures...feel free to have a look: http://www.freewebs.com/bmwrideruk/ anyway, next week I will pick the Uly up and bring her to her new home! I already look forward to it. Anyway, just wanted to post a Hello from across the pond. This forum is great for info etc... Chat soon. Lars |

Geesh Crusty, Just what are you doing to that XT of yours? Does someone need to call protective services? |

Welcome .. nice mod's to the bike. I'm sure you know about it already but the local'ish ( for you ) ukbeg.com group seems to be very active with rides and events. Though I live in a wonderful part of the US for riding, just did a ride yesterday into the N. GA mountains. I've always been a bit jealous of the European and British riders because there are so many ride/trip option's. |

Wilkommen, Lars! Awesome trip reports on your website - I did a very similar ride (but you had better weather) in Scotland in 2005. Still my life's greatest adventure! I particularly liked the opening line: "After dropping our kittens off at a local cattery..." Who knew there was such a thing as a "cattery"? Do they have "doggeries" over there too? Also, I was blown away by my rainy view from the road above Castle Stalker, but had no idea it was "Castle Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. |

Hi all, first thanks for the warm hearted Welcome. I am sure the Uly will be a great bike and i am looking forward to our ride outs...first big one is planned in August to ride back home to Germany for a week and than a wee tour of the Harz mountains and on my way home a visit to the Nurburgring! @ Hooper: yes, there are cattery's for dogs...but they are called kennels...i personally think a cattery is a great business...as we paid nearly the same amount to put the kittens up than 1 person Bed & Breakfast cost for the duration of the Scotland tour...looks like the kittens enjoyed their stay too... also i passed the castle stalker 4 times on the tour and every time i shouted "Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh" into my helmet...too funny anyway, i think one of the first task i will do is buy a service manual for the Uly as i will have to do the 10k service fairly soon...and i am planning on doing the work myself...that way i am bonding with her too. thx and chat soon Lars (Message edited by lars1974 on June 29, 2009) |

Forgot to mention this in my above post. Check out the sponsors here on this site for all your purchases. They are good people. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/17143.html?1246256901 And no, I don't get any kick-back for saying this. |
