Picked up my new 2009 Ulysses "X" today and enjoyed a nice ride home from the dealership about 50 miles away. Right off the bat this bike feels like it fits me like a glove & better than my previous bikes (BMW R1150GS, R1100S, R1150GSA, Moto Guzzi Le Mans). My wife says it's the nicest looking too! The dealership didn't have my owner's manual ready for me when I picked up the bike (drawback of Sunday pickup I guess). I would really like to adjust the suspension for my weight, is their a place online I can view the owner's manual? Or, is their a post with the settings in a thread here? P.S. - What other things should I expect (if any) besides the owner's manual? Is their a toolset or any other "loose" items that I need to remind the dealer to send me? Thanks

Go to Buell.com, go to the owners section and make an account. You can view a copy of the owners manual there complete with suspension settings. There should be a tool kit under the seat wedged in with the battery and fuse box, its either black or blue and has a few basic tools in it, most important one being a 7/8" nut used to remove the axles. |

Barricade Orange - the best +1 on Froggy's post - the OM is on buell.com in the owners section. My suggestion is get a 3/4" (I think technically it's a 22mm) socket with a long extension and a ratchet for the front preload. The factory tool is good in a pinch, but a PITA for a base setting (depending on your weight it can be 8 turns out - when you use the factory tool, you're measuring in flats, not turns...). And if you ever want to paint stuff bodycolor, find a hobby shop. I use Testors plastic model paint in Ford Grabber Orange. Dead-on match. Welcome to the family. Now...GO GET IT DIRTY. |

Welcome aboard and we are thrilled to have you . . . . . New Jersey is a SPECTACULAR place for riding the Ulysses. Check out the online version and be sure to snag your manual next time you visit your dealer. It arrived, stapled to the inside of the crate, with some other useful paperwork. We're glad to have you here. Ride safe and enjoy your Buell. Court |

Thanks all for the Buell website suggestion. I have the settings now from the owner's manual (until mine arrives from the dealer). Can someone confirm what I would be missing besides the owner's manual and the tool kit? Any other papers or bits that I should make sure I get my hands on? |
