The camera is charging. We'll see when I get time enough to do this one.
Hey Treadmarks, stay close to the phone!

Looks like someone will be having fun!

Take pictures as you take things apart...that will give you something to look at when you start putting things back together.

No No, never do that. Rip it all apart. Throw all the parts on the floor. Stir them around a bit. Drink several beers and have the puzzle of a lifetime!!

Damn. You beat me to it. I ordered mine last Friday from my dealer. We'll have to compare notes on the install process and post install ride experience.

Nice.

Can't wait for the feedback, as I have not changed my springs yet.

Some background...what's the idea behind this job? Is this the mod to increase the turning radius on '06s? Anything else good come from it?

Damn. Got the call from the dealer today to pick up my parts. Gotj and I headed over to pick it up when I got to the parts desk I realized something was missing. They only ordered one fork spring.DOH! I even had the parts list typed up with QTY 2 clearly marked.

The good news is I got these parts in a few days. They said since business was slow, orders were processing faster. Etennuly, Gotj and I won't tackle this for a few weeks anyway.

Hooper ,the updated triple trees are the mod to improve turning radius. As long as I'm messing with the front end I decided to do the progressive springs since they were so cheap and I needed to change my fork oil anyway.

Hey Nipsey, you sure that's not Dr. Greg's post exploding deer photo?

Orangeulius, may the fun begin. Well in a little while. Just did a 6-speed in the Geezer Glide with bigger pan and swingarm stabilizer. New starter, rear pulley and belt too. Need a break, then we'll start a new mess!

Nope, it decreases your turning radius. You will no longer be jealous of the Mack truck in tight parking lots anymore. : )

Increasing the stop to stop swing of the handlebars = decreasing the turning radius of a motorcycle.

I started on this over the weekend. Got the wiring undone and the castings out of the way. Since I'm changing springs too I read the book about the fork holder and the spring compressor. I figured the forks are already in clamps so why transfer to another one? I stuck the axle back in and used a ratchet strap over the bottom tree and under the axle and cranked it right up. I made a simple puller and a shim. I pulled the spring tube down and slid the shim under the nut to hold everything. No need for all those special tools. I'll document and photograph all this and start another thread when I'm finished. So far so good!
