Awhile ago I promised myself a Uly when I reached my first goal of getting down to 200 pounds. Since I weighed in at 228 last Sunday, I'm getting close. I figure I'll be there sometime in February.

So, hello! I'll be starting to try to find an '09 blue Uly soon - just so I don't have to wait too long when I finally get to my Uly-buying goal. I figure between the 4 or5 dealers in AZ, I might even be able to find one in stock by then.

Congrats! Don't let color stop you, it takes only 5 minutes to swap colors if you can only find one in Pull Me Over Red. : D

Froggy, Pull Me Over Red, Funny, but true. I've got the semi safe blue one. The bags help. Safest color as far as not getting pulled over has been the solar yellow on my Jeep.

Bttrthnwrk, What is your final goal, and your height?

If I was delaying the purchase of a BFN Uly for a weight loss goal I think I would eat ex-lax and drink water 'till I hit my mark.

I have about the same goal, said when I dropped to 200 I'd start looking for my Uly and use the money from my umpiring to purchase one. Tipping the scales at 207 at this time and baseball season starts in just over a month.

Froggy: I keep forgetting about how (relatively) easy it would be to just change out the plastics - not like my current bike that would require new paint on the tank, fenders, and miscellaneous plastic parts to change the look. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Ourdee: I'm 5"10", and my final goal might be unreachable for me, given where I am in life right now, but I'd really like to get down to 150. Haven't been there since boot camp. And that was some time ago. Still, it gives me something to shoot for. Heh, so does the Uly...

Skinstains: I'm working on about 900 - 1000 calories a day already. 300 for breakfast, 250-300 for lunch, and sometimes I really get crazy and go all out for a 400 calorie dinner. I almost hate to say it, but it's starting to wear on me a little.

"Pull me over Red"? I thought that was "Arrest me Red"? Same difference, I guess.

Thanks, all. I hit 225 this morning.

I'm going for the XB12X. I test rode the XT last year when the Buell demo van was up in Phoenix, and thought it was just great, but I'd really like the taller model for all the dirt roads around Tucson. I found I could flat foot both feet on the XT, so I figure I'll have no trouble with the X. Before my cruiser, I rode enduros. Of course, this isn't yesterday I'm talking about. I'm a motorcycle retread, kind of. After my first set of college days, I started riding, and eventually wound up with a '76 Yamaha DT400 endure Great bike. Lotsa fun. We lived in Tucson, even back the, and I finally got seduced by air conditioning.

Anyway, I've had my poor cruiser down more dirt miles than I can count, and I'm getting concerned about the wheels and the frame. That frame makes a real worrying thud when it hits bottom. Shocks sound kind of funky then, too.

I won't be giving up my current bike, just adding to the stable. Besides, my oldest son passed the local Rider's Edge course last year, but has nothing to ride, yet. I'm thinking he might like to hit the trail with me. Actually both boys probably would, but the youngest hasn't gotten his motorcycle endorsement yet, but says he wants one.

Welcome you have come to the right place as I am sure you can tell if you have done any looking around here. I was on here for 3-4months before I got mine just soaking in the knowledge and humor. Good luck with the weight loss too. I am just starting mine trying to get to 200 or so from my current bulky 240. Have fun searching and if your unable to finds one locally most people on here can tell you of at least one dealer to find it.

Ride safe.

Hey, perhaps OT but kudos to all who are striving to get in better shape out there!

Mrs. Greg lost a ton (well...) of weight a few years back and it transformed her (our) life.

Good job, guys!

Kudos aren't fattening, are they? Doesn't Nabisco make them?

Just finished a tenderloin w/onion rings and a soda. I I I'll start the diet tomorrow. 5'7" 216 lbs. I want 166. Last time I got to 150, my wife said I looked like a skeleton. I was 139 with a 26" waist when I got out of Camp Bullis. I'll see that again on my death-bed. Hang in there, if you get too weak go to the doctor. I picked up the vitamins the other day. Now I just need to start the program to get my bike 50 lbs lighter by spring.
