Hi, I'm looking for any Uly (or other XB Buell) riders around Tampa, FL. It's for a favour.... Have you seen any of the various threads on O2 IED sensors? This is an inline device that enrichens the closed throttle - making idling and starting much better (and cooler!). Trojan (in the UK) currently resells these things for Harleys with great success. They are a low cost (sub $100) tuning device that fixes what a lot of other devices don't do - the closed loop running. The maker of these things is Nightrider.com, who is based in Tampa, FL. All he needs is access to a Buell so that he can confirm the plugs needed and to test one of his devices to ensure that it works on the Buell fitment. The only major difference is that the Buell only has one O2 sensor rather than the two found on most H-D's. The benefit of course is that the Buell fitment should cost less than the H-D version, so should work out around 45 pounds or less maybe. Trojan has these fitted to his tweaked XR1200 and swears by them. The flat spot and surging that was present when stock has completely disappeared, even with a modified airbox, free flow filter and custom exhaust system. The bike definitely runs cooler than before too. So..., anyone near Tampa?! Would you be interested in being the test bike?  I'm very keen for this (obviously as helping a dealer create something that I then have to buy off said dealer!) as ECM Spy does not work on the 2008 model Buell's, and even for older Buell's this device should result in far better off idle performance and cooler running. | ||

I'm in Palm Harbor (20 miles from Tampa). However, mine is a 2006. I'm willing to help if my bike is acceptable. Also, I should mention that I run the Race ECM. Let me know. | ||

A huge thanks to both Aeholton and Wolffone2000 on this board. Us 2008 owners are completely stuck with poor running, especially off idle. Pre-2008 owners have the ability to use ECM Spy, but only with a lot of knowledge, to tune their bikes. This is the biggest part of fouled plugs, and the solution I'm chasing is plug and play (and cheap!). I have PM'd you both. Thanks again! bigkuri | ||
