To celebrate 10k I finally got off my butt and took some pictures of the Uly (in it's natural, dirty, state). Still needs a black seat, but I'll have that fixed soon. Whaddya think?

Where is your old fairing/flyscreen? Looks good otherwise, gives me a good idea of what mine will look like if I put on the Uly tail : )

Very cool!

I work with a guy that rides an X and has been wanting a more upright seating position due to an old wrist injury. Do you think this would work for him?

I would post pics of my dirty CityX that wants to be a ULY, but I amsure y'all have seen them by now. Bike is back out of the shop this week, I will get some new muddy pics. Until then, there is one on my profile for the curious.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm going to be doing some more additions this winter. First will probably drill a hole opposite the ignition to get my 12v outlet back, adding a drummer, then it's going to cherrybomb plastics/wheels.

Froggy: Chrisrogers3 and I swapped fairings from his cityX.

Roostre: The fairing doesn't change riding position at all, just more/less wind protection and cooler looks. I'd probably suggest some higher bars (Uly bars for example)

Hey Dustman, I have a black 06 Uly low seat that has a minor scuff with a tiny hole on the left side panel. If you want it it is yours for the price of shipping : )

Hey, all!! Nice pics!
Would love to know if i can get a lightning 'select' seat to fit the Ugly.

Have seen a couple of photos of the Adrenalin Moto uly conversion (shown), & decided thats what i want mine to be, but with the 'select' seat. New seat pan, tail-light ass'y & a bit of frikken around should have it sorted. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

If you put the Lightning seat rails and under tray on the back of the ULY, then the Select seat will fit. If you ride in the rain, you will feel why the select seat is more decorative than functional. It does a very nice job of ducting water right down the bum. There really ought to be a damn warning label on the thing.

Yes I am miffed about it. Yes I bought it, Yes I live in Seattle, and duh it rains here, alot. that seat is a gutter spout directly to your @$$.
YRMV, but you were warned.

Is there any truth to the statement that last year 276 bicyclists in Seattle fell off their bikes and drowned?

The Lightning seat rails will NOT fit the Uly. The Lightning Long/STT rails WILL fit. The select seat will NOT fit on the Long/STT rails.

On that note, I am looking to switch my Lightning Long to a Uly setup.

the lightning short seat rail will fit, we had a guy do it last year. It is not easy, but it does work. You have to completely remove and replace the under seat tray, mount the Lightning one, relocate your air hose for your shock (which if you are using a shorter shock you end up doing anyways) and then mount all the rear hardware for the Lightning. I am sure the company will tell you it cant be done. I sat on it. (hell our shop told me the stuff I did with my bike couldnt be done) That is the only way I would get on a uly, if I could take all my parts from my CityX and get them installed on the ULY.
All in all, it just makes more sense to buy the TT though.

No failed wheelbearings? Your bike isn't running like crap? Fan still works? Belt didn't snap? No plugs got fouled?

You aren't riding a Uly, someone put a Buell sticker on a BMW!

Man, that screen kit looks fantastic!

Can I use that shot on my Website? Don't have any action shots yet.

You'll definately want my cruiser pegs as well doing that sort of mileage, then she'll be part-cruiser as well!!!!

Awesome.

And you didn't get pulled over for obstructing your license plate?

And are those Motolights? Any feedback on them? Fit, wiring ease, effectiveness? Worth the bucks?

Hooper, no problems with the constabulary. Think everywhere I went they were happy to see my rendition of a 4x4.

Those aren't motolights. Wish they were. Just ordinary (yellow) halogens to increase my visibility to others and give me more broader light patch. Actually I have HID's on both the low and high, so more than enough light.
Ride on . . .

Have been having email problems and just asked about your trip plans........ sorry nothing exciting but it bugs me when I can't get replies or responses to people reliably at the moment. Internet provider is steadily getting worse!
I also get emails that go straight to the Spam folder - even from guys on here who send me PM'S.

I concur, I have sent you 2 emails with no response. I am looking for the quick adjustment knobs for your brackets.

BTW, easy email solution, get a gmail account, never had a problem, DOD computer or personal.

Hope to hear from you

How is that bike frame secured? Is it just via bungies? I gather the tail light is visible through the wheel spokes.

Quite a packing accomplishment. Looks like the weight is having a small effect on the rear tire.

Good job overall!!!

Aha, Alchemy, you asked the question. It all looks like a pile of crap bungeed to the back of a bike - sort of ad-hoc and ugly as hell, but it actually has a bit of thought behind it.
I had to custom fabricate a rack and attach it to the original rack mounts. These pics show something. Used 3/4" square stock. All pretty sturdy. Then attached standard bike racks at the end. I can actually carry two bikes, as long as I don't mind them getting a little scratched up. The frame sat pretty pampered and secure, but the wheels had to be bound up to the whole bundle
I saw so many different set ups for carrying a bike but most of them were just too cumbersome and had too much frontal area. This all packs up quite nice and doesn't give the wind much more to tug on when the side bags are attached. I can also load the hell of the main rack and it's not as high up as the Buell box made to fit back there, albeit a little less nice to look at.
For the tail light I tied an aftermarket auxiliary LED into the brake light circuit and attached that onto the triple tail. That thing lit up the day when I touched the brakes!
Yeah, I also had a slow leak in the back and you can see that sagging. Actually, all that crap was much less weight than having a passenger and far less fidgety in the corners.
