Well, after thinking about it for a year and a half, I finally got around to installing some auxiliary lights on my Uly. I was inspired by Webe's setup at Buelltoberfest, using pieces of aluminum angle to support the lights at the existing turn signal mounts. I couldn't find suitable aluminum angle, so I just used steel since the mounts are small and the weight isn't significant.

The lights are "Burners" from Advance Auto Parts. ~$16 but the kit didn't include a relay so I had to buy that separately for ~$5.

Front view, lights off:

One weird thing, each stock turn signal stalks had a hole for an indexing pin with a corresponding hole in the cowl, but there was no pin. I bought an assortment of roll pins at Advance and found a couple that would fit the provided holes. I also drilled the brackets for the pin so everything is kept in alignment.

The lights are powered from a relay triggered off the high beam circuit. No, they're not going to cause slow drivers in front of me to burst into flame, but I suspect they'll be a significant improvement over stock.

Oh yea, I also installed a Fiam Freeway Blaster horn while I was in there. It's better, but not dramatically better than stock. I may wind up investing in a Steubel at some point but first I'll see how this works out.

Does anyone know if running the dual headlights and one of these setups will over run the charging system. Just wondering if I add some auxlights if I need to undo the rewire mod. Thanks

Greenman, no.

Get the Ft_bstrd voltmeter mod so you can monitor your charging system.
