My 08 feels like the throttle is binding;
I have to turn it to decrease power and as I do so it seems to bind on something.

Has anyone noticed this and if so I wonder
what is causing it?

Also, is there a wire instead of a cable
(electronic cue of throttle position)?

Mine did this and I think it is a pretty common thing.

Two things:

1) Make sure that both the throttle cables have some slack in them at all times through the movement of the steering lock.

2) Make sure the cam under the airbox is moving. Mine was binding really badly (after just 500 miles!), and a touch of WD40 fixed it immediately.

Thanks - I pulled the airbox and gave the
cam a shot of tri-flow. Now the throttle snaps back like its supposed to.
