Best Mileage Tire for the Uly?

I love the OEM Pirelli Scorpion Sync tires on the Uly, quiet, grippy, etc., I just need more mileage out of my tires.

The bike does sport touring, mostly - and they've have to be good in wet weather. Maybe I just want it all.

Any thoughts?

I got about 5-6k out of Avon Storms on my Bandit 1200 (the best millage I ever got out of a tire on that bike). At 3600 miles the 616's are about shot. I am about to put a set of Storms on the Uly. Others here have used them on Uly's with good reports.

Any tire mileage reports need to be compared to the stock tires (Pirelli Scorpion Syncs), because the mileages vary greatly from rider to rider.

I have gone through 3 Sync rear tires, consistently getting 7,500 - 7,600 miles on each. Some people burn through them a lot faster...and I have read of others getting 10,000 miles out of them.

So someone reporting that they got 5,000 miles out of the Storms does tell me much without knowing what they got out of the Uly's stock tires (or some other tire that I have used).

I currently have about 2000 miles on a set of Avon Distanzia's and really like the aggressive tread pattern for off road and wet weather, but have also been surprised about how sticky they are on the pavement. It may be hard to predict how long they will last, but I am hoping it is at least 5,000 miles. If that is the case, they may become my tire of choice for everyday.

With all of that said...I am seriously considering the Avon Storms or Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's for some summer long distance traveling. So I would love to here report(s) on those two, but in comparison to the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs. Inquiring minds what to know!

I'm in the middle of a LD test on the Roadsmarts made by Dunlop. At first I was not wanting to put another set of DunFlops on but riding these have changed my mind.
Last week I started out on a cross country trip with fresh Roadsmarts. I currently have 4861 miles on them. These tires have been through it all on this trip; rain for 2 days, super slab across TX NM AZ, a little snow for 2 days and twisties in NY and PA. The dual compound thing I thought was a gimmick but it is not a gimmick. The normal chicken strip you would have after 2000 miles of super slab would be noticeable but it barely showed on these tires. Now with 4000 miles the chicken strip is shown but I could see getting 3000 more out of these tires easy. The side grip of the tire is better than the D616 but not even close to that of the Distanzas I just replaced befroe this trip. but comparing grip on a SM tire to these tires is not fair. They are predictable and turn in well. You don't feel the deference in the tire compound from hard to soft compound going in or out of a turn.
Overall pleased with the tire except for the traction in snow but I should have known better than to drive in the snow with out studs. Wet traction was unbelievable, cold wet or hot wet. Spending 2 days and 1000+ miles in the rain was proof to me that these tires are good to go in the HEAVY rain and heavy snows!
Off road they were just like the D616. Skidish in the turns and really not for the off pavement work at all but worked just the same for about 100 miles.
GREAT LD tire but I will swap back to my Distanzias to satisfy the hooligan in me and my need for off road runs.
Next up in the garage already for me when I finish the trip are a set of Storms so it will be better to compare to the Roadsmarts.

I've just worn out a pair of Bridgestone BT021's. If you don't have them over there they are supposed to be sports touring tyres.
I've just trashed them in a little over 3,000 miles, front and back. I'm mightily pissed off. I had Michelin Pilot Road 2's on before which were good for 6,000 at the back and +2,000 front.

I shall be paying Mr Michelin a visit very soon.........
