Is it me? or is there a fair amount of noise coming from the air box? My ULY is an 07, completely stock with 2200 miles. At slower speed and on acceleration there seems to be a lot of noise in and around the air box. Is this normal? Thanks |

Ahhhh, well, maybe... "A lot" is a very subjective qualification, and "noise" is very vauge. Can you describe the noise in a little more detail? Otherwise, yes it is supposed to make a lot of noise, the engine is right underneath it. -Chris |

Chris is right, its not the quietest engine out there and that big lump of plastic is going to amplify the sound. However, what you may be experiencing is the 'Rattling Horn Syndrome' Take of the fly screen and wedge a piece of rubber between the horn bracket and the strip of metal behind it..... or try riding with ear plugs. Works wonders for my 25 year old BMW sounds so smoooooooth! As one old boy observed as I pulled into a car park on my Uly recently... 'Hell son thats one noisy engine.. I'v heard quieter hand grenades'. |
