Was riding a few miles this afternoon and noticed my speedometer was acting odd. Normally it's rock solid but It was bouncing up & down 2 to 3 mph. then it began to drop and eventually went down to zero (as I'm going about 40/50 mph). After another mile or two and a stop it sluggishly began working again and has appeared to return to normal. Anyone seen this before? . |

No, but my tach recently has started something similar. Sometimes (no pattern of course) as I'm accelerating the tach starts to sweep, hangs up anywhere between 1000rpm and whatever rpm the engine's doing when the tach decides to catch up, then lunges to that position. I thought maybe a ground problem but everything else still works ok, except for the random-on fuel light and fuel odometer which I have a warranty claim for already for fuel pump replacement. |

Thanks for the pointers, I'll be rotating the engine this weekend to get at the header so I will go under the screen and hit the connectors with some dielectric grease. I bet that's the trouble as it was kind of wet & rainy today. . (Message edited by 08uly on March 27, 2008) |

I was water skiing once and wiped out and lost my speedo, but thank god I found it down around my knees. |
