The $5 I spent on a Wal-Mart tire plug kit and the $15 I spent on a motorcycle sized electric air compressor were well spent.

Yes, I've been there done that. Works like a charm when you need. The little air compressor also helps those with sagging 80's air suspension get back home as well. On a ride with an older goldwing, the rider and passenger were stressing the rear shock so much that the tire was rubbing the fender and swingarm really bad. 5 minutes with the air pump hooked up to my bike and the shock full... they were on their way home, with no rubbing.

Best $20 I ever spent!
