Howdy folks...
yesterday I loaded up my Uly for its first out of state trip with a Tail bag hooked to the 3 position Beaver tail. But now i cant get my leg over the top of the bag to mount the bike... I tried putting a foot over the seat near the air box, but left a nice black stripe on the seat cover from my boot.

How do you guys get on a loaded bike ??

wow - this is ripe for off color responses...
methinks you have a short inseam. At 6'4", I have no problems : ) It is nice that Buell made a bike for us average guys.

usually when i have all three bags plus one on the back seat i will step on the left side peg with my left foot, stand up and swing my leg over. standing on the peg should give you adequate clearance, even if you are somewhat limited in stature.

I don't like to put my full weight on the peg and swing a leg over for fear of the stand giving way or bending all of a sudden (embarassing).

I just mount from the right, hopping a couple of times on my right foot whilst hoisting my left leg over the saddle with a bit of help from my hands.

You'll get used to it.

I wish I could find it on the site here, but posted somewhere there is what I consider to be a classic picture of Jerry/Ferris and Denise mounting a Uly silhouetted in a tunnel, Jerry throwing a leg over from one side, Denise throwing a leg over from the other side, what I consider as a great photo.

" . . .Jerry/Ferris and Denise mounting a Uly . . ."

Having been an eyewitness to this in Colorado, I can say without reservation that the lovely Denise has a much better time of it, and looks substantially better before, during and after the procedure. She has a certain grace that her SO cannot ever hope to come close to . . .

I just swing my leg over. I keep a seat bag on my bike at all times (unless I'm doing a track day with it).

Maybe I just keep on learning things, but...don't they kick you if you try to get on the wrong side?

I get on in a side kick kind of fashion. I will say my martial arts training really made getting on this bike easier. I'm only 5'7.5". I pull my knee up towards my chest and shoot it across the bike at the low part of the seat from the left side.

I sort of end up looking like that. I put the leg that I've got up in the air on the seat, and sort of wiggle my way up onto the saddle at which point I essentially have my two toes supporting the bike.

..by the way, I'm 5'8" with a 29 inch inseam. But this should tell you what a rush the Uly is to ride...for someone to go to this much work to ride a bike that's too tall for them says a lot. : )

I'm ~5'10" and I mount similar to Bertotti. If my wife is with me she is already on the pillion so I have to lift my leg up and across the seat, often using my hand to help my leg up.

One of the perils of my mounting procedure.

(that didn't sound quite right, did it.)

I stand facing the bike from the left side, plant my weight on my left foot, and kick my right leg straight up and forward over the lowest part of the seat.

Hey, there you go. I keep hoping that Buell will release an XB12Xcg (sort of like the difference between a GS and a GSA)...
