I get a Uly, best motorcycle purchase of my life. The weather gets warm, I get a hankering to go get my bike from my parents in Tennassee in my itching to ride I start looking at other bikes thinking, man I shoulda got that, oh I coulda got this one, etc. As I do many times after getting a new bike.

I travel to Tennassee load the XB12X up in the truck and drive back to MI. The weather drops back down to 30's and 40's so I leave it at my grandparents in Mason for 10 days.

It finally returns to warmth I'm thinking how nice the new Kawasaki Contours 1400 would be nice if it were priced good and available, or a Ducati Multistrada would fit nicely in the parking spot out front of the apartment or a Honda ST1300 would be to ride from coast to coast. Then I wash the Buell (covered in salt from the snowy ride back to Mason from TN) And I mount up to ride back down to Ypsilanti.

And all those thoughts of other bikes are purged from my mind. Holy cow waht a machine. It takes me back to when I first bought a buell in 04, a lightning 12. Going from a Harley this thing was the most exhilirating ride of my life. Then I get this new Buell and it is everything I could dream of.

I almost feel guilty for wanting a different bike. But not really, my bike is great but isn't perfect, but it is about as close as a bike could be. I just can't stop going out between final exams and taking a quick run over to ann arbor to grab something. This weather is just so pleasing, 30mph winds today, I duck down and don't feel a thing going 90 on the highway.

I unload all my extra side and top box and the bike is like a sports bike, stiff suspension, rigid frame, my gf gets home from work, we take off and instantly withought even changing the suspension setup it rides like a cadillac perfect for two up riding. 400 miles this year on <2 60+ days when I had the bike available and I don't think I can stop hopping on it and going searching for something new I havn't seen in south eastern MI.

I can't wait to hit up a nice 2 track and maybe drop my bike in the mud the first time. The exhaust can is rusted to hell, the head pipes are starting to corrode, my cut air box makes a lot of noise, my front brake i abused brand new and is noticably warped. But this is what makes the bike mine. I have dumb stickers that mean nothing all over it. And that is what I love about it, it does exactly what I want wether it is braking, accelerating manuvering.

This is what a bond is made of, the relationship between this bike and me is undeturrable. The only thing I hope is that I am smart enough to not swap this bike out for anything in the near future. I have a tendancy to sell the good ones, the XB12S I wish I didn't trade for a Harley, that was my bike much in the way the Uly is. I would not miss the Uly if I went right back to that bike this second cause I loved that bike. And I would have some money in my pocket.

There might not be any point to this post besides the feeling I have is probably shared with a lot of you Buellers out there. Thanks to Buell for making something unique, american, and quality I can enjoy everyday. All this talking and my girlfriend walking in the door means I gotta go, time for a ride. SEEYA!

Hah!! I snuck one in on ole Mother Nature.
Left for Georgia (on my 06 ULY) on March 23rd.
Sunday the 24th. I rode the Dragon.
The traffic sucked!! The squids are idiots.
Monday I rode around Dahlonega and Blood Mtn. area. Russell Road (180 I think). Wolfpen Gap (a couple times). Tuesday rode the Cherohala Skyway (beautiful road).
Got home to Kazoo town Thursday 28th.little over 2000 (s)miles.
It's all my fault that winter hit us again. (sorry)
The following Thursday I awoke to 5+ inches of that white stuff!

Get it when ya can.

Peace
Milo

Ahh just found a nice new road in Lincoln, MI. I think at least. GF was cold so I didn't go far down it but darn this is a great bike.

And yeah Milo you suck! : ) Only time I rode the dragon was on my 99 super glide with my father on his grampa glide. The funny thing was there was a guy on a dirtbike who was completely crapping on all the superbike riders. Passed about 10 of em from deals gap to the top where it opens up. I would love to ride that again, I'm sure I'll be able to with my parents home in TN about 6 hours away, ride there in the morning ride all afternoon camp out ride all afternoon then return home. And the roads to get there from my parents are AMAZING. TN roads are definately FTW. Actually after finals I think i'll head down there for a week : ). Seeya around!

Terrible,
I live and work in Ypsilanti, and I have never run in to you. I ride a blk 12s. Have you ever posted over on the Detroit Hooligans storm fronts? A group of us just did a ride on Sunday through Hell MI, and up to Brighton and back.

It is always great to ride with another bueller hit us up some times on the storm fronts.

If I'm in town I'm usually floating around 23, down Packard to downtown COB at Eastern. I live just off Carpenter on Packard in Evergreen Apartments. I just posted on the storm fronts section. Very cool stuff, where do you work?
