Im looking to add some octane boost on very hot days. The manual does not mention adding octane booster....can it hurt my motor or electronics? If no, which brand do you use and get good results from? thanks, Jack |

Joojoo, Are you having problems with pump gas on hot days? |

yeah, I get a few pings here and there when coming on the throttle....If I use the Sunoco Gold 94 it helps quite a bit. Id like to bump the octane up even higher if I can... cool air though, no problems at all. Jack |

If I remember right the manual warns against using fuel additives. I used HD fuel conditioner during my pinging saga when the temperatures started increasing last Spring. I thought I got a bad tank of gas but after several different fill ups at different stations, it was clear that the fuel was not the problem. I changed my timing to fix my problem. So far I have several thousand miles on the bike since I made the change and no problems and it has not pinged one time! Plugs look good and I got 55 mpg running 65+ mph most of the time last Saturday. |

Some octane boosters contain lead and can damage your o2 sensor. Be sure that any octane booster you use is labeled o2 sensor safe! |

I am using NOS street legal formula to help my pinging problem. It does not eliminate the ping, but it reduces it significantly. It claims to be safe for oxygen sensors (that is the problem with adding octane booster, some of them will ruin your oxygen sensor). I suggest that you contact Buell customer service about the ping. It should not ping, and it will cause premature engine wear or even severe engine damage, depending on how bad and how often the ping occurs. I am bringing mine in on Tuesday for Buell to fix. |

Dont bother with that harley's rocket fuel. It didnt help at all. In fact it made it worse. |
