The rubber in the front isolator of my Uly makes a squeaking or "chirping" sound. I notice it is worse the hotter the weather is. Maybe the rubber gets soft and allows more movement causing a squeek? It happens only at about 1500-2500 RPM's. That is about the speed I run the engine in traffic. It's rather noisy and it annoys me because I would rather hear the sweet rumble of my bike with the drummer.: Has anyone noticed this on their bike also? I don't think putting something on it is a good idea. (rubber dressing, armour all, ect.) Maybe something is wrong, maybe there is a fix, or maybe I just have to live with it? It looks OK and the bolt is tight, I didn't see anything damaged. Any ideas, advise? Thanks all, Jerry |

1,500??? That's really lugging the engine. Even 2,500 is low in my book. You paid for all those revs, use them. |

Just above idle up to 2500 rpm is about all I can muster in slow moving (15-25 mph) traffic in 1st gear. It's either that or constantly slip the clutch. I would love a lower 1st gear on this bike. Sorry for the slight hijack - my Uly has no squeaks of any sort but I do believe it has the horn rattle at low rpms. |

I fixed the horn rattle the first week I owned it. It was LOUD. Like Ikeman said, just above idle to 2.5k rpm is about where I ride in slow moving traffic. In the Seattle area where I live, I am forced to ride at a painfully slow pace quite often because of heavy traffic. I notice alot of other citys are very similar during peak traffic times as well. The bike should not suffer ill effects by riding at 1500-2500 rpm under the proper conditions and in the lower gears. The engine runs and pulls great at those rpm's when in first or second gear...where the chirping is the worse. Now if it were legal in WA to split lanes.............wait that's a different subject. |

How much clearance between the large limit washer and the isolator? |

I haven't checked that clearance, Teeps. Is there a spec for that? I could check my shop manual then the bike tonight when I get home. Sounds like a good place to start. |

Well, I'm not an expert, but I generally cruise between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm. Below 3,000 the vibes increase significantly. 1,500 is flat-out lugging the engine. |

In first and second I run mine ~1500 all the time when splitting. When traffic permits third I generally run 2000-2500. The engine pulls cleanly in the lower gears without slipping the clutch. FWIW I've never had the TPS reset done. The only adjustments I've made were timing advance to the brink of pinging. 9200 miles and still smiling. |
