Greetings..from Charlotte, NC
Just got my new Uly... and like it a lot except for the huge heat coming from the right side under the thigh! Whew... seems like that is something they should have caught in testing ..unless it's just my bike. Only 300 miles on it. Hope it has a solution...?? And, hope the gearbox gets smoother..

Am a longtime Buell admirer, and hopeful future owner. I currently have a 2005 Yamaha FZ1 with only 1780 miles, and am getting tired of the annoying chain noise that my dealer says is normal. Does anyone know of a dealer in the upstate SC area? I intend to get an XB12Ss,preferably in Black.

Hey all, 17 yr. old highschooler, and I'm planning on getting a Blast or (less likely) a xb9 for college.

I hope they keep producing the sporty-er chassis but with a smaller engine come '10 or so, because I think a 12r would be too much bike.
Great website.

Greetings from Wisconsin's Fox Valley, long time biker, first time Bueller. The knowledge base on this site has already proven to be invaluable to me, keep it coming! Here is a picture of my 99' M2, with my other toy, an original steel 1928 Ford Model A; both are not stock and are ridden/driven regularly and hard!

Welcome Zinian!

That sounds like a great plan, start with a good solid blast, learn how to get a lot out of a bike, then upgrade.

The Blast is great because it's an economical and reliable entry level bike, that handles and stops *great*. Too often, entry level bikes seems to mean "lousy suspension and brakes".

Another bike to consider would be a KLR-250 (made between 1985 and 2005). Street legal dual sport, learn how to handle a bike on the dirt and you will be able to handle street bikes better then most.

Welcome Zin,

I agree with Reep, but let me also add that I highly recommend you take the MSF Basic Rider's course BEFORE you buy a bike. First, it will provide you with very necessary skills and information you will need to "ride safe". Second, if you take the course at your local Harley-Davidson/Buell dealership, chances are you will be riding the Buell Blast. This will allow you to assess what you think of that bike. Good luck...

Paul

Scott:

First of all . . . WELCOME to Badweb, we're glad to have you aboard.

Next . . . the 25th Anniversary bash will be held around the 4th of July weekend (not likely a busy weekend for most Brits) and will be in and around East Troy, WI.

I expect a strong representation from Buell owners overseas and will be working with some folks to provide logistical support.

The best thing to do now is mark your calender to save that weekend and watch www.buell.com.

Our Grand Commander returned from her Honeymoon just days ago and I expect you'll see any updated information in the owners section of www.buell.com AND it'll be here in on badweb as well.

If you need anything in the interim, just drop me a note.

And finally . . . WELCOME!

I love my XB9r. Have to be honest, however, and admit it is my first bike. Living in Colorado I get to go over the curvy passes (e.g. Peak to Peak, Squaw Pass, etc.), and this bike is soooo fun. I just have to stop getting speeding tickets.

Only complaints:

I want more out of 2nd gear. Cruising through town in second doesn't work for me. It seems to get a little jerking at certain RPM's in second??? So using third is just boggy when you want to hit it.

I am one of those who would appreciate some more RPM's as well. I would love to ride the 1125.

Love the bike. Ride it everyday. Not looking forward to winter anymore.

^^^Dizzle, the 750 was awesome, no doubt. But the CityX is just perfect for me as I live in downtown Seattle. I was looking for something with a more comfortable sitting position for the lovely traffic we have here : )

New to Buells. Use to ride metrics(which are good bikes), but heard a lot of good things about the Ulysses, so I bought one June 07. 4500 miles later and several trips up the Beartooth mountains, I like it more and more every time I ride.
