Hi All
I have a XB12X. Love it, great for the coastal curves of Tillamook county. Does anyone know if the race kit for a XB12r/s #82004-03Y will fit my bike?
Thanks

Hey everyone,
My name is Chris. I have just started riding street bikes this past year. My first and only bike is a 2004 xb12r. I had been riding ATV's and dirt bikes on and off since I was 16. I have yet to modify my bike, (except removing pieces to clean it up) but I am in the process of deciding on an exhaust. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Howdy,
My name is Patrice, 45 and riding since I was a teenager. I got heavy into vintage european bikes and antique Indians on and off over the years. I was riding my 1960 panhead and restoring a 1953 Indian Chief, until my brother let me ride his 2000 Buell X1!. I got sick of how expensive it was to restore the indian, and decided to ride a modern bike again. I debated for a year on what kind of Buell to get (new XB12R or Used Tuber). I looked on ebay and craigs list and I was close to buying a new XB12R from the dealership. But when I saw the 2001 S3 on craigs list, I just had to have it. Mainly because it is so freakin good lookin, appeals to my like of rare bikes, and its better for taking my wife as a passenger. It is a far better bike than I could have imagined!
Also, it has been great fun having a tuber Buell like my twin brother has.
Pics are of us on the way to the Harvest Classic rally.
Thanks for all your help and advice on this forum! Cheers! And may the torque be with you!

Hello everyone. I am just introducing myself. I just sold my 6R and will be dropping it off to the buyer next weekend. Then the shopping starts for a new bike during the off season. I just got rid of my 6R because I do alot of long rides and Supersports kill me. I need something more comfortable but yet still sporty.

I have my heart set on an XB12Ss. Hopefully I'll pick one up soon but until then I am just going to try to gather as much info on them as possible.

Thanks all and its good to be here.

-Future Buell Owner

Former Bueller ('96 S1) back in the saddle of a new '06 XB12Scg. Quite a bit different from my old tuber, which saw about 20,000 miles before trading in. Still getting used to short wheelbase and sensitivity to tire pressure and suspension settings, but I can tell this is going to be a fun bike, if not the most practical I've owned. Been riding bikes, scooters and sidehacks of all types and nationalities since 1957, so I'll keep and open mind.

Hey all, I'm James and I have a Buell Addiction... Actually, I don't quite have the fever yet as I have not acquired my bike. I just recently won an auction through Ebay for a 2005 Xb9sx "City X"...I'm totally stoked and can't wait to get out on the street. Not to mention being able to fraternize with all of the other Buell riders, who seem to be a very classy bunch. I look forward to hearing from you all and if you are ever in south florida, gimme a buzz.

Hello y'all.

OlDog sent me here to check out pics of his bike and his friends, etc. I don't have a bike m'self (being a pro-car fan) but can appreciate a nice bike.

Just figured I'd say hello in case you happen to see me commenting to my brother, and anyone wonders just who the heck I am. : )

Hi, from East London South Africa
I own a 2006 ulysses, and it is a great bike, After owning several Harleys it is great to have a bike that handles, stops and performs whilst still having that magical Harley feel.
It is also a great attention getter.Does anyonehave any tips or ideas about modifying or changing the air filter to get better performance? Look forward to your suggestions.

I assure you, I'm quite possibly every bit as nefarious as my infamous older brother - I just dress better than he does. Well, that and he could probably out-quote me on Monty Python movies, but I wouldn't take a bet on it. ;)

Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to reading lots of travelogues and checking out bike pics. : )

Welcome all. Thanks for taking time to say "hello."

Great pics DuckBuell. : )

Major congratulations Buellmule. I won my current Buell on ebay as well. Best purchase I've ever made.

DynaMike, or should that now be "UlyMike" or "Myklysses"? Would be very interesting to see some photos of your South African riding adventures. One of your countrymen has been blessing us with some of his. Our roster currently shows a dozen BadWeBrs listing South Africa as their home.

Netgoth, we'd welcome any embarrassing stories and/or photos of your brother that you'd care to share. Welcome, but beware, prolonged exposure to this place and its enthusiasm for motorcycling in general and Buell motorcycles in particular can be contagious.

All,
Welcome to our asylum. : D Please do come on in, kick back and enjoy the chaos/fun. : )

Hello All,
It's been great reading all of your experience with the buell life. I plan to buy a bike in Jan. 2007. After researching the v-stom for six months. I have now found the Ulysses and I love it. Can some one please give me pros and cons on 06. I'm 5' 10 it looks like I will need the taller screen. Is the stock seat comfy for long rides? I live in New Jersey any
suggestions trustworthy dealers?

Thanks for your thoughts, Dave

Hello all,

I'm considering buying an '06 CityX (XB9SX), and have a few questions, of course. I did get a test ride on the Ulysses yesterday, so I know what a Buell feels like.

How does the CityX handle on long freeway trips? And are there effective after-market windscreens for the CityX, or perhaps the Ulysses windscreen will fit?

My only concern with the CityX is that when I do have a chance for a long jaunt on the freeway, it may be too exposed to the wind to enjoy. And the alternative of an XB9R seems impractical, as I don't race and am not interested in the sport bike crouch.

Thanks in advance for any response!

MPatrick

I should really be answering on another thread, but here is my opinion (as an owner of a 9sx)...

I use my 9sx for commuting and the occasional sport touring trip. Lack of luggage space has at times been something I have had to work around, but lack of a fairing was never an issue.

You get a smooth uninterrupted flow of air, and your hands stay warm due to the hand guards. I think its perfect. I have ridden a variety of other bikes with various "fairings", and every single one felt much worse to me then either my Cyclone used to be, or my 9sx is currently. They never blocked all the air, and just put a region of buffeting at either my head, neck, or chest.

No doubt one of the mini-van sized bikes with fairings are great, but short of that, I would rather have no fairing then a partial fairing. This includes a VSTrom I rode.

For all day comfort, the 9sx is much better then you would think possible, and is much better then my Cyclone was, though I don't really understand why. I rode from wheels of time in Maggie Valley back to home (past Cincinnati, Ohio) in one afternoon. And that was after a morning of riding the Blue Ridge Parkway already. I was ready to be done when I got there, but it was a very doable ride.

So the bigger issue is luggage. You can pack light and do some patient and careful bungee work. That would let you carry enough for person for a week. No way you could take a passanger and carry any luggage though. It's one or the other.

Fuel range could be an issue for some, but the size of the 9sx fuel tank is very close to being about exactly as far as I want to go without stopping to hydrate, de-hydrate, or just walk around. I am now a firm advocate of the JB2 "once the ODO crosses 100 miles, you don't ride past a gas station". I get 127 miles on a tank (127.5 if I am pointed downhill : ) ).

Reepicheep,

Thanks for the thoughtful and thorough response. When I test rode the Ulysses, I was impressed with the lack of buffeting on the highway. It looks like I should be able to expect the same with the XB9SX.

I hope to join you as an owner in the near future!

Hi.
My wonderful step son left a Suzuki GS850G in pieces in my back yard. So, maybe there is a chance I'd be welcomed in this fine forum : )

Therefore, if it is alright with you good people, I'll just hang out and be cool.

Greetings Buellings:
I just picked Thumper, the Little Blastard up at my dealer. It's a 2003 Blast from the dealer's Rider's Edge program and my first bike smaller than 1100 ccs (89 1200 Sportster, 82 Honda Goldwing Aspencade.)
I bought because I got it cheap (I teach the RE program) and needed a bike as my Old Wing's electrical system has been invaded by the Spirit of Lucas. I was concerned about getting it over The Mountain and it's ability to stay up with freeway traffic but TLB tooled uphill at 75 mph only to roll on and by a couple of semis...
I think I just became a Buell rider, not just a motorcyclist.

See you ... by the way, anyone out there from around Charlottesville, Va????
