I am headed to CA for a few days in 2018. The master plan was to fly out deal with business buy a new bike and spend a couple weeks meandering across the southern part of the US until I hit water and start back up to NY. EBR was kind of teasing something a little more touring friendly so that was to be my machine of choice. That is not looking very promising right now so I am thinking about buying a second SX and gearing it up for the trip then ship it out to the left coast.

Parts I would like on the bike are as follows (I plan on adding links as I find the pieces Input is appreciated it looks like Froggy and Crusty were poking at touring unit as well)

Windscreen

Higher Bars

LED Fog Lamps

Hand Guards

Heated Grips

Seat Upgrade (EBR or Full custom I like the Idea of heated)

Bar Mounted USB charger

Drop Pegs

Tires

Luggage I really like the outback series no clue how I would mount it.

Also anyone know how much stator output I have to play with? It will determine how much heat and lighting I can put on this thing.

Also to anyone who thinks I am crazy for buying yet another bike that may lose parts support you are right. However The SX is an incredible amount of bike for the money There is nothing else quite like it

That windscreen is a universal MRA.

Looks like the top and side cases from the outback series will fit (37 litre sides 42 litre top) mounting may work by butchering the stock rear seat a bit and modifying the rear foot pegs.

Still zero luck with getting a lock on how many amps I have to play with off the stator.

So it is..... Thieving Swedes....

I wouldn't say that directly to Jens. While he has a commanding presence, I've never seen him at anything less than amicable and at an even keel. But what tips the scales for me is that he's been a LONG time Buell supporter!

I realize that most people look mainly at cost so...

Just how close of an apples to apples comparison is the Twisted Throttle link to the NCCR link? It looks like the $104.95 item in the Twisted Throttle link is the screen only. And for a mere $48.95 one can add any of the universal or model specific mounting hardware kits - of which NONE mention EBR. So, not including shipping, with a guesstimate at a mounting hardware kit you're at $153.90

Now looking at the NCCR kit - yes it is identified as a KIT - and it even states that "Kit Comes with all necessary mounting hardware". 1080 SEK (Swedish Kronas) converts to 127.53 USD using today's exchange rate. Yes, international shipping can get expensive and can sometimes take a little bit more time, but in this instance I'd say it would be worth it.

Having a complete kit, with hardware suited for your bike, from a LONG time Buell supporter versus a universal setup that you'll have to futz with. In my mind the choice is clear.

YRMV,

I checked the hardware situation and I will be buying from Jens. $50 isnt worth messing with bad mounting combos

I don't know either of you guys but, 1313, thanks for defending my friend Jens, he really is the ultimate Buell and EBR enthusiast who has done more for the brand than anyone I know.

Cmmagnussen, I like what you're trying to achieve, I respect you for opting for the NCCR product and I suspect you were using a little irony in your "thieving Swedes" comment because I suspect from your screen name that there is some Nordic blood flowing through your veins

Steve

Jens was a "bright light" in the EBR world during the darkest days of the Hero fiasco. I look forward to having the opportunity to buy some stuff from him one of these days.

Once you select US$ and exclude VAT, a lot of the prices are pretty good and he has a lot of items that you don't easily find here (for specials).
