I was on my annual trek with friends down to Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina this past week. Riding along and I start feeling a vibration over and above the normal "V-Twin" vibration. Couldn't figure out what it was. I was checking things and saw I needed oil which was odd as I only had 400 miles on the current oil change. Anyhow I found that the left mounting tab broke off at the oil cooler (picture to follow tomorrow). I bought a few stainless steel tie straps and jury rigged it to pull the oil cooler in and up. I believe there is way to much tension on the tabs, as hard as I could or any of my riding buddies could pull on it to get it up o where it mounts orginally was impossible. It seems that the oil lines are either too long or not bent enough. I discovered that there had been oil leaking out of the two top oil lines going into the cooler, which is why my oil level was down I suspect. Has any one else had a problem with the oil cooler or any issues? Now the big deal will be how to get it replaced, "under warranty" by my dealer! I will more than liklely remove it and take i into the shop and have he bracket tab rewelded onto the cooler.

I've never heard of this. Suspect you are the first to experience anything like this.

I can't believe how much pressure the tabs are under, tried manipulating the oil cooler back into it's original position while attached to the lines, it's impossible!! I am thinking I will extend the mounting tabs a little to reduce the load on the mounting tabs from the oil lines. It will need to be at least 1/2" forward, my concern then is potential contact with the tire while it is riding on some of our "finer" roads here in Michigan. Any suggestions or recommendations?

How about reinforcing the tabs on both sides after welding it back on? It looks like there is not enough surface area on that tab to support the weight. The oil cooler and radiators are made in Taiwan so no surprise something broke

I contacted dealer just as a starting reference point, if I said that was pointless it would be a understatement! No luck, they say they have made numerous attempts to make contact with EBR and or even Lawyers to get parts, but no help. They recommend I remove it and take it to a repair shop to have it welded/repaired.
Since my shop has a welding fabrication division I will use my own certified welders to do the repair and modification. All that aside I'm having a hell of good time on the beast!

Did you get your oil cooler tabbed back into a good position? Where is the EBR dealer in Michigan?
