Hans & Blake have kindly offered to buy a copy of my book… if I would just write one.

Well, I’ve got a five-year fishing venture to get out of the way before I begin that project in earnest, but in the meantime I have been practicing. I have been playing around with a particular technique that will consist of telling the story as a series of letters to various individuals. The flavor, if you will, of each letter will be determined by the person to whom it is written. As an example, an episode would be told differently to my best buddy than it would be to my parents. On occasion, I may tell the same story in two letters to show two different perspectives.

The following attachment is one episode, as told to that best buddy. The letter is not real, of course, but the story is true. One day of a 30-year fishing career.

If I ultimately chose this technique, I guess it would still fall into the genre of a memoir, but would naturally be titled, “Letters from a Fisherman.”

This piece is copyrighted, but all I request is credit for my creation. I hope you find it entertaining.
