My work keeps me hopping.

I ended up with an opportunity to take a road trip which should have started last weekend...but was delayed until Wednesday. Time line crunched...I pressed on anyway.

Wednesday- Headed out from Tyler. Took 155 South to Palestine and then 79 to Buffalo. Went to see my customer...15 minutes max...back on and then to Houston down I-45. Arrived in Rosenberg around 2am. Bike ran like a dream.

Thursday- Got up around 8am. Off to see my customers and a few consultants. Got hung out for too many hours and wasn't able to leave until 7pm. Headed straight down 59S to Victoria. Got lost....and missed 77S. Found myself out near Goliad. Decided to visit the fort of La Bahia south of town. To those unfamiliar with our history, "La Bahia" was the site which the Mexican Army killed the Texans they captured in an earlier battle. Massacre.
Fannin was trying to reach the Alamo to aid the defenders..against Houstons orders. The worst happened.
Later in the year...a company of the Texas Army recovered the bones of Fannins men, left by the Mexicans and scattered by predators, and buried them in a mass grave just south of La Bahia. It is now marked by a large memorial.
Arrived in Corpus around 1230am. Wet...but just ahead of the worst weather.

Friday-1030am. Checked in at the local office to make sure someone would meet me at our office in McAllen. Headed out. Corpus to McAllen is a road filled with nothing but distance. Flat.
Arrived in McAllen around 1:30pm. Finished up around 7pm that night. Parked the bike at the office and was given a ride to the Hilton.

Saturday-Woke up around 9am. Got a cab to Reynosa Mexico. Bought a few things and headed back to the office. Boxed em up..along with what dirty clothes and other items I didn't feel like hauling back..like a laptop and end devices...to ship by Fed Ex.
Headed out to San Antonio via 281N to I-37 around 12 noon.
Compulsary visit to the Alamo..of course.
Hour in Riverfront Mall.
Hauled ass to San Marcos to eat with some friends.
Ran up 79N through Buffalo to Palestine and then home as fast as possible. Home at 1am this morning.

I wished I had logged my mileage. I was too busy trying to make sure I didn't go to far past my reserve to want to chronicle anything.

I figure it was around 1200 or a little more.

Will post a map some time later.

Damn...I'm tired.

33 when I got home.

Didn't really hit me until somewhere south of Palestine.

Still wore out.

Alright...up and at em fatboy!

I work for a Drilling Instrumentation company which is owned by the largest drilling rig contractor in the world.

One of the neat things we do is to take all the daily "depth" or "time" data and send it up to our website where the end user can see via charts, graphs, and annunciator screens all his well data. Blah blah blah.

I just went out to check the upload processes to see if we could streamline the new process we just put in place.

I TRULY didn't expect the trip to South Texas.
I just figured i would be going to south houston and back.

Wrong. Sucked it up and rode on though. I had a technician meet me at each area office/shop/storage building where I locked the bike up for the day or night.

Ended up being a great trip even though I froze my ass off on the way home.
