We had a little get together last night at Chicago indoor go-karts. Pretty cool place, 2 tracks indoors with a pretty damn nice bar/restaurant/game room up stairs with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the tracks. 6 of us competed in our event, had 3 time trial events which we earned points for & were used to line us up for the final race. Supposedly the carts will hit 30-35 & when you are in a building thats actually pretty fast. Was a blast power sliding them around the corners...sometimes just a bit too much powersliding & whoops around you go The lobby Had to go to a briefing room before our race & watch a film Rocco thought the neck brace was earmuffs since it was a tad chilly at first The bar area Left to right, my wife, Heather & Jason Our chariots await us. This is track 1 & its the one we used. CBR600RR sitting in the the track area...for some reason the wouldnt let us take it out tho?

Part of track 2 & a mini cooper...they wouldnt let us take that out either..damn them! And we are in & ready to go. Waiting for a green track Blurry pic because we were simply too fast for Heather to snap pics This was the 2nd rd qualifier..I was last, spun out & was against the wall waiting for a corner worker to push me off. Our Motley Crew, dont mind Rocco he was praying. The 3rd qualifier..thats a little better for me, although both Jasons were kicking the rest of our @sses. Those carts are a lot harder to steer than it appears, my arms this morning are sore from it. Top ten times for the day are continually listed & updated, here both Jasons in our group are solidly in the rankings.

I finally noticed Heather upstairs taking pics, really hard to look up while wearing the neck collar, although I can see the need for it...a few took some good hits. This is it, the final rd. Each race was between 15 & 20 laps although the last one was 24 laps. The battle for the Badweb cup is on. Have no idea who this is, from way way up here we all look alike The nice thing about our group as opposed to the others who were there is that we all brought our own helmets so we knew who was who when we were either passing them or getting pushed into the walls by them...paybacks are fun. And Jason Boissonnault wins it..he was fast, maybe being the smallest person out there helped him out? He was the only one in our group to break into the 16 second bracket. Top 10 times of the day, both Jasons got in as well as Rocco made 9th place. I just missed out on 10th...was .10 off. This was the winning order for our championship race. Congrats Jason on a hard fought victory. This was our fast time during the last race

Set up a group of 6 or more & the cost is $70 a person. Thats really not bad when you consider we were there for over 3 hours & got in somewhere around 80 laps. Go to Six Flags & you will pay $45 a person, wait in lines for 45 minutes to over an hr so hit maybe 8 rides for a total of 12 minutes riding time. Makes this look like a bargain. The food was very good, my wife ordered a burger & it was huge, but they screwed up her order & we got the food & the sodas for free...very accomodating folks there. They want to make your visit enjoyable. |

There are a couple of those here in Pheonix as well. Absolutely BRILLIANT fun. The track layout at one of the places down here lets the karts get to about 40-45. The surface is fairly sharp so they really stick well. I spent about $150-200 a month there for about four months before I got my 12R... I still run down there every once in a while though. |

I used to have one of those places in town and my friend would go there every Friday. We were unbeatable then they closed the place down which sucks. Since my friends and I were regulars they let us bump each other well actually we turned our races into demolition derby's but hey most places aren't gonna kick out their best customers. Glad to see you guys had fun! |
