Went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket, this is gonna drop the top speed down to around 170..big deal, thats still fast enough: D

But the stoplight to stoplight races are gonna be a whole lot more fun. Was geared so high in first that wheelies didnt happen until 35 mph. Now she screams from light to light & the front end spends more time in the air then on the ground.

Next step is a full exhaust system which increases the top end hp by 8-10 & fattens up the middle right around 7000-7500 by 16hp. Has a pretty good dip in that range with the stock system until the exup valve opens up.

It's only a Yamaha. Let's talk about something fun to ride, like a Buell!

Fun??? LOL come one back here Crusty & take the R for a spin. This baby will put a huge smile on your face. May not have the noise of the V-twin, but she has plenty of power, handling, good looks, & will wheelie for miles....course I cant wheelie for miles..yet.

will it really lower your top speed? i thought it was power-drag-limited to 179 or whatever rocket posted? think it will hurt or help your 1/4?

you just wanted to see your speedo read 190.

Top speed will be dropped down about 10mphs. No biggie, I can always swap the sprocket if needed.

It should help the qtr mile. Guys with the same bike & similar mods have theirs into the 9.8 range..course they have quite a few runs under their belt getting the right launch & shifting technique.

That's the trouble with those R1 donkeybikes. You have to change the gearing and buy a whole new exhaust system to get any performance out of them. They're useless off the showroom floor!

Useless..LOL John.

The exhaust im not even changing until next year. Doing it more for noise than anything else. Im so used to loud bikes that I need some noise.

That's a terrible sight to see; even if it is just a bunch of disposable rice rockets.

I think I see a Buell XB in the middle there. Obviously never went in for the kickstand recall: D

yea the TI Force setup is sweet, as is the Arata, the D&D sounds cool but is junk.

There has to be at least a dozen different systems out there right now. I would like to find one that I could utilize my stock muffler heatshields on. I like the way they look on the bike.

Nope, all rice.
Honda(model?) SuzukiGS500 SuzukiGSXR1100(newly restored) YamahaR6
The guy with the Honda had parked his bike in neutral, so when he wanted to leave he touched his bike just enough to roll it forward enough to kick the stand up and down it went...dominos.
Good thing (for him) the police were there.

Why's the D&D junk? Too bad 'cause they sound so good too. Don't look too nice though.
Not only do they look good but keep heat away which is always a good thing.
