Recently I took My S1 to the dealer for re-calls.

Swingarm, Isolators, rear shock, I get the bike back and no apparent problem.

500 miles or so later I am cleaning my motor and notice that one of the threaded hole's in the front head has cracks around it (RH Side) @ front motor brace (mount), I have done maybe one or two wheelies since but no front end slammers, they were gentle landings.

So I call my dealer and ask if they loosened the front bolts before raising the frame or lowering the motor, they said NO, they did Not loosen the front motor mounts.

So my question is, can this cause the front head to stress and crack later, like it appears is happening here, or is the head cracked due to me "riding it to hard" as one person puts it??????????

Also, if this has happened to ANYONE, please share with me your dealer Experience as I will be going to get it fixed.

Thanks
Paul F

There are several reports of similar failures posted on the site here, one just this week. Use the search engine here to find them as some of them tend to be scattered about the board some instead of in the KnowledgeVault.

I've installed a metal bracket between the front isolator and the top motor mount. This seems to solve the problem of broken motor mounts. You can buy them from hillbilly motors in germany info@hillbilly-motors.com
