I have a problem maybe someone can help, I recently changed my oil in my s-2 and now it makes a kind of hissing sound when I get into about second gear and doesn't stop until I get slowed down to about 10mph in first and stops all at once. I didn't change the oil filter because the dealer gave me the wrong one, the oil level is ok but the bike has never done this before, I used screaming eagle synthetic 20-50 oil, it's 65 degrees out so it's not cold, can anyone help? Also this is the first time I've changed oil, so I don't know what was in it before, just that it was dirty.
Thanks

I have a picture at work from a computer tech that was investigating a hissing noise from a woman's pc. When he opened it up there was a live snake in the machine.

Maybe that's what you have.

Sorry I can't help much on the noise. Can you tell where it's coming from?

It sounds like it's coming from the motor, but for awhile I thought maybe the front brakes were rubbing since it kind of stops after I apply the brake(front),I'm no mechanic, but it sounds loud, but yet it doesn't seem to be affecting the performance of the machine, although I stop running the bike after it starts up, it takes about 30 seconds to start when running down the road, when the bike gets warm then it starts?

1buells2,
Couple of quesitons:
1. Does it make the sound when stopped, or only when moving?
2. You say it stops when you lightly apply the brakes, are you wearing a helmet or lidless or halfshell (this is a hearing question)?
3. Did you recently replace the brake pads?

My S2 will make a sound similar to this sometimes, it's the brakes lightly brushing the iron rotor. Or it's something else.

Sometimes a quick net search takes one to where one didn't want to go or to things one didn't want to know about. Apparently there is now a word for everything.

There is still no feminine version of the word phallus. I had proposed clitterific but my friend countered saying that it would be more appropriate if the word phallus was instead dicktastick, I capitulated and the search for a suitable femme phallus continues.

BTW - 'femme phallus' also a bad thing to web search on.

1buells2 take a look at your rocker box covers. A loose bolt there will casue a whistling sound.

Uh.. I think a search for a female phallus is kind of .. uh.. well.. I'd rather not go there.. have do you an understanding of what a Penis is, right? Same thing.. So, are you sure you want that to apply to your lady? (I'm speaking in general here, with deference to some that may prefer a phallicly endowed partner to one that is vaginally equipped)..

Later,

It almost sounds like the brakes, but I'll check the rocker for loose bolts, if it queef's at me I'll have to re-organize and come up with a different plan altogether, right now it sounds more like a friction being created instead of pressure released from friction. thanks
