So, I'm in a followup appointment with my neurologist today, making sure I really *was* this crazy before my accident last year and nothing's gotten worse because of the wreck. I walk out of the building....and there's my S1W laying on its side.

LEFT side.

Looking it over, someone in the space next to me hit the back tire pulling out at an angle, rolling the bike forward enough to fold the kickstand and send the bike over.

HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE DOING THAT??? It's a freakin' BRIGHT WHITE BIKE.

Anyway. Called the cops, filed a report mainly for insurance. Amazingly, no bodywork damage. Left barend mirror damaged; CRG black stubby clutch lever busted (even stubbier now, lol), shifter bent up and shoved into the primary cover, damaging the cover and the derby; end of the left footpeg scarred up pretty good (billet Buell race pegs). Amazingly...the Buell race clipons weren't bent at all.

My debate now is, replace the primary or not? I have to check my deductible.

What I really need, if anyone has one, is the lever portion of a black CRG lever-adjust stubby clutch lever. I'll be emailing Al shortly to see if he sells just a lever, or if it has to be a set.

Oh...and does anyone know of a good bike alarm system that has a motion sensor and a keychain pager to go with an earsplitting siren? A *small* system? It is a solo-seat S1W, after all....there's barely enough room for *me*, lol. I'll probably have to find something to stuff under the flyscreen.

Just glad I didn't take the S2. That was my first thought in the garage today. Fairing...bag...tank cover...lower...THAT would have REALLY sucked.

Ouch! That sucks! I recently picked up a Scorpio paging alarm, but haven't gotten around to installing it.

I had someone total my car while I was sleeping... it is a bad feeling isn't it? Had someone push my bike against the wall of my apartment's garage last year... Oh they do notice, they just don't want to "fess up"... god I hate that.

Joe, damn. People do suck. Of course that is the norm, people to not want to take responsibility for their actions anymore.

I do not have any of the parts you need, sorry.

I think, for what you said, the bike is totaled so to help you out and take it off your hands.

BTW: I hope the neurologist had good news for you!

A question for all and especially Froggy because he seems to know a lot about techy stuff.
Is there a way to connect a camera or two to an alarm to take video or a succession of stills when the alarm is triggered?

And is there a way to rig same front and rear cameras to continuously film road and traffic for 30-40 minutes, and erase the oldest data so that it can continuously update the file. Advantages for replaying a good ride and replaying asshats for benefit of law enforcement, insurance, revenge, etc.

Hence the reason I never park in a parking spot. I'll take my chances pulling the bike up on the curb or along side the building somewhere. I'd rather have to deal with explaining to a cop my reasons or paying a stupid $10 ticket. Its better than the other outcomes.

That could be done Slip. Problem is you just don't have enough room unless your running with those beastly Uly bags.

Worse part of your bike being hit Rat, is they didn't have the balls to come in and say something. Worse of all, it was probably some blue hair that doesn't belong behind the wheel anyways!

Yes Slipknot that is doable, its just a matter of cost and figuring it all out. Quite a bit of wiring will be needed, easily mount a bullet cam on the front and rear signals, recorders and other hardware under the seat. I don't know of any that will activate from an alarm trigger, but it wouldn't be hard to rig it to a relay to turn on when the alarm activates. As for the 40 minute thing, most of the setups I have seen will just stop after they reach full, not loop back to the beginning.

Couldn't you use a lean angle sensor of some kind to activate the system to record and set off an alarm?

Good ideas all...but remember, it's an S1W with the "one cheek" solo tail.

NO room. I'm actually just thinking of one of those rotor locks with the alarm in it.

All good ideas but I prefer a hunt and kill mission myself.

Maybe the building you were in had video of the parking lot!

Joe,
Sorry to hear of that, some people do indeed suck.

I have just the levers. They aren't on the website, so give me a call and we'll set you up.

Al

Al - I'll definitely give you a ring today. It's looking like a marathon, haven't had a chance to sit still since I came in the door...but sometime this weekend. I broke the curled end off so at least my finger isn't trapped anymore, lol. It was like my clutch lever was half a pair of scissors - insert finger, flex to grip, flex out from grip. Goofy.

Thanks : )

Rat,
Gorilla alarms makes what you are looking for. They have a model that has a pager you carry with you. The main unit is pretty small, I mounted mine behind the flyscreen on my S1W.
